  1. Hi all, I bought this lamp 6 years ago and recently was cracked by upgrading workers. I am looking to replace it. Has anyone who has been shopping for ceiling lamps seen this at any shop? I bought this from Jalan Besar previously but unfortunately cannot find the shop contact. It is quite big and made of glass. Thank you in advance for any assistance

  3. Hi gkbt, Thanks so much for detailed reply. Really appreciate it I was not aware that RO systems uses electricity. I must ask them about that.
  4. HI Kimkoon, I am also interested in the Aquaphor Morion RO system. Can I find out which of their filter you are using? How many years have you been using it and any feedback? Thanks so much!
  5. This is a good article which I want to share with everyone when choosing supplements: http://www.naturalnews.com/039638_toxins_ingredients_nutritional_supplements.html "Would you eat iron filings and call it nutrition? The majority of people don't know that most of the cheap vitamins sold today are made with iron filings. "Scrap metal," almost. The calcium found in cheap vitamins is often just ground-up seashells, and magnesium is often sold as cheap magnesium oxide which may be completely useless to your body's cells. If you're buying mineral supplements, you may be wasting your money unless the minerals are in the right form: Magnesium orotate or malate, for example."
  6. hi desenseart, Agree that not all supplements are equal. It is important to differentiate between supplements made from synthetic ingredients and those made from natural ingredients. 7. Hi gkbt, I am looking for an RO system which removes fluoride on top of the chlorine, bacteria.... What do you think of the following: Aquaphor Morion Reverse Osmosis$1,188.00 http://healthquest.com.sg/collections/home-water-filters/products/aquaphor-morion 100% fluoride removal they claim. It is Russian made and follows the Russian standard GOST R 51872-2002 which is equivalent if not higher than NSF standards 42 and 53. Recently, the Morion system was NSF certified in the US. Mineralization takes place after the RO process to replace the minerals. Since most RO uses a lot of water, this system claims to reduce that wastage: "Due to efficient storage tank membrane and valve system, Morion remains the ratio of wasted-to-filtered water below 4:1 no matter how much water there is in the tank and how high is the pressure in water supply. For traditional RO purifiers with air-on-water storage tank this ratio varies between 10 and 15 at approx. 3 atm pressure and grows towards the end of tank fulfillment. Given the fact that we usually use 1-2 liters of filtered water at a time, Morion, saves you up to 50% or 9000 liters of water a year." Any comments is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  8. Just received this email from iHerb: "Now through October 31st, our Eurasia Express shipping method is free for orders over $60.00!" Delivery takes 4-8 business days. Tracking is available. Orders up to $105.00. Limit 15 lbs per order. This promo makes this method more attractive than the "Global Mail by DHL" method if you buy by this month. Faster, provides tracking of your parcel, allows you to buy more per order and also heavier items.
  9. Hi all, I wanted to share a reliable and affordable place to buy for your supplements (Nordic Naturals, Sambucol, Garden of Life), food (natural and organic nuts, seeds, flour, herbs - Earth's Best, Gerber, Healthy Times, orgran, Munchkins), personal care (non-toxic and natural - Avalon, California baby, Palmer's, Earth's Best, Seven Generation, Earth Friendly Baby). I am a stay at home mum of 2 girls and have greatly benefited from the savings from buying from this place and wanted to share it with those who are on a tight budget and yet do not want to compromise their health. A health professional recommended me to iHerb in 2010. This is a US site with a 16 years track record. One of the largest online retailer of supplements and natural products in the world, it carries over 600 brands and over 30,000 products. In addition, they also carry a wide variety of products suitable for sports, diet and weight loss, aromatherapy and even pet supplies. It also has an excellent shipping and refund process. Just last week, I emailed their customer service to complain about a packet of coconut chips and the very next day, they refunded me the cost of the item to my credit card. They didn't even expect me to return the item. They also do a great job in packing and ensuring that your items are well protected from breakage and leakage. Every single glass bottle is protected in the solid cardboard casing. Bulk herb packets, flour, shampoos or other liquid bottles are all packed separately in individual zip lock bags to contain any possible leaks. Products are of high quality & fresh due to the high turnover. Expiry dates are listed on each and every product page. Not something you find on other such sites. One of the most important difference from ordering from this online site (compared to other online sites) is cheap delivery. They just started to offer free of charge delivery 5 days ago if you choose the "Global Mail by DHL" shipping option. Besides, the items get delivered right to your doorstep. When you buy from the local stores, you have no idea how long the supplements and food have been sitting on the shelf. Rancid products is a total waste of our money, not to mention harmful to our bodies. I am a frequent customer of iHerb and have always received my items in perfect condition and they never make a single mistake with any of my orders. Click here to see a video on how advanced their warehouse system is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAsl8-UQJFI If you have not heard of iHerb, I urge you to explore it and share with your friends and family members. I was amazed by how much I saved over the last 2 years. Easily more than 60% off retail prices. Some price comparisons of what I buy from iHerb & the prices in a local healthfood store: Garden of Life, Primal Defense, Ultra, 90 Veggie Caps iHerb – US$34.57 Vita*** – S$102.90 Nordic Naturals, Arctic Cod Liver Oil, Strawberry Taste, 8 fl oz (237 ml) iHerb – US$21.21 Vita*** – S$89.90 Now Foods, Real Food, Certified Organic Raw Walnuts, Unsalted, 12 oz (340 g) iHerb – US$8.85 Vita*** – S$20.00 Earth Friendly Products, Ultra Dishmate, Free & Clear, 25 fl oz (739 ml) iHerb – US$3.56 Vita*** – S$8.80 I buy all my supplements for my family, organic food & baking supplies (herbs, sesame seeds, flaxseed, nuts, cereals, snacks, seaweed, flour), toxin-free personal care & household products (fluoride-free toothpaste, sunblocks, bodywash, shampoo, conditioner) organic skincare (aloe vera, serums), essential oils from here now. Many of which I could not afford if I buy locally. Do register with them via this link to receive any promotion emails which they run occasionally. If you registered via this same link and make a purchase, iHerb will take US$10 off your first purchase if you spend $40 & above (US$5 off if below $40). Make sure you see this coupon code "YEN647" during checkout. Try to consolidate your order to hit US$60. This way you get another 5% off your total purchase. Also, don't forget to select your free sample. Each order is entitled to one. This morning as I logged into my iHerb account, it appears that they have just started to run a promo on FOC delivery for shipping via Global Mail by DHL! I really hope this info is useful for some mummies. Wanted to end by sharing this 7 mins video on the use of toxic chemicals in our everyday personal care products, from lipstick to baby shampoo: To health & beauty!

  11. I recently sent my 1 yr old cotton curtains (living rooms) for dry clean. They are made of good quality UK cotton. I was advised that I should not wash them myself as they will shrink. But when I collected the curtains from the dry-cleaners, I noticed that they have shrunk & the colour has even faded! I was really upset & brought them back to the dry-cleaners. They dry-cleaned it again (for whatever reason I have no idea & not happy cos I am worried that it can cause further shrinkage) & told me that it is normally for curtains to shrink & fade after dye cleaning. And guess what, after the 2nd time dry-clean, the curtain shrunk even more :,( My curtain has in total shrunk by 3.5 - 4 inches (depending on which sides)! I did call the curtain company & according to them, dry-cleaning will not cause either. This is the 1st time I dye clean my curtains & have no clue who is right or wrong. Can any kind soul give me some advise on this? I have 2 more sets of curtain which I have fortunately not sent to the same dry cleaner. I stay in Clementi Ave 2. Any advise or safe dry-cleaners would be deeply appreciated.

  13. If I only change the switch box & use back the same trunking, is the cost the same as installing a new single switch?
  14. Try this place: http://www.roomyroom.com/html/royal_french_furniture.html Maybe give them a call to check? I only saw white mirrors the last time I went.
  15. Thanks for all the useful advise. I fit my hob in & it goes in nicely. But how about the silicone to seal the edges to the kitchen top? Is it necessary? Cos if not water will seep into cabinet right?
