  1. Hi, Can I have the contact for Mr Ong. Thanks.
  2. My friend called him to request for quote and informed me that he is no longer working with mover company.
  3. They quote based on the items you are going to move. My experiece with them so far no hidden cost.
  4. Congrats.. Nice 3D drawing. All the Best for your Reno. Looking forward to your Reno progress.
  5. My experience with JS Furniture... http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32130
  6. Oh... I thought I was the only victim or the sway 1 to kana this kind of workmanship or after sale service... as I read another thread that gave good review.
  7. After reading good reviews in this forum as well as recommendation from my colleague, I engaged JS Furniture to do my shoes cabinet, TV console as well as 2 recess area cabinets. Jack was very prompt in his service to provide quotation on the exact measurement with no obligation. I was very impressed with the efficiency as all the cabinets and TV console were able to be installed 1 week after the confirmation. The workmanship for my shoes cabinet and 2 recess cabinets were good. However, the interior of my TV console is a nightmare, even though the exterior seems good. There were many redundant holes and these were caused by wrong holes drilled. They simply did not replace the board, maybe because it would mean more work need to be done and less profit to be earned in order to do so. The carpentry was done by Jack's brother and 2 workers. I made a mistake for not checking the workmanship in details before handing Jack's brother the cheque payment as he was sort of in the rush to go off after completing the job. I had to call them back to do the touch. Jack sent his brother to do the touch who seems very reluctant to do the job. My husband highlighted those not properly done...he simply ignored. Redundant holes Wrong cable hole After touch up pic - they didn't bother to put the right size of cable cap and use silicone to seal up the gap...the silicone was all over the place and I had it clean up as best as I could I called Jack to complain that the touch up was very poorly done, he promised to send another worker who has good workmanship to finish up the job but never did. He didn't pick up my call thereafter. (After given much thought and advise by a few renotalk members, I decided to post my experience with the above mention carpentry company as we are all here to share regardless good or bad experiences we have had.)
  8. Hi Cypher, I'm very happy with their workmanship. I'm going to engage them to do another build in wardrobe for my girl's room.
  9. Engaged 138 movers recently. Used them 2 times before. Seems that they have some internal staff change, and service is better this time round. They still use blangah workers, but they work forming a chain, and it is pretty fast. took about 4 hours moving out and moving in. No issues. Can try.
  10. Sorry about your bad moving experience. I think engaging a mover is a hit and miss kind of thing, unless you have used them before or have feedbacks on them, or else you wouldn't know.
  11. Hi qezash, After reading many posting in this forum, I realized my ID's mark up at least 30 to 60% on my reno items, even though this ID's quotation was the cheapest among the other 2 IDs'. Thus I omitted many reno items and decided to out source to other contractor in order to do a complete renovation with the limited budget I have. The liaison and coordination was a lot of work, but definitely worth the effort as I'm able to save $10k. My reno is almost done, waiting for the carpentry work to be completed by this week before I can move in on 8 May 10. Wish you a smooth reno journey...
  12. Hi Alishong, Congrats for your new EM, looking forward to see the new look of your place...
  13. Hi qezash, Welcome to RT... Looking forward to the new look of your place...
  14. As dishwasher is commonly used in western country, I chose European brand Bosch. The product should be reliable in term of quality. I'm not able to share my experience on using the dish washer as I have not moved into my new house to try it.
  15. In order to cool the 1st fl EM, it is advisible to install 2 air con units to be placed in the living room and the dinning area where the stairs is according to my air con contractor. These 2 Air con units cannot share the same compressor with the 3 air con placed in the 2nd fl bedrooms if you are intending to on them together with the bedrooms air con as the cooling power will not be enough.
