  1. Lise, sorry to hear about your unhappiness towards S&C. But my experience with them is totally different, I felt that they are people who gives very good service. IMO, people can go to them IF you can afford the time for them to rectify. 1. Some of those IMM furnture shops, you pay more and you might still end up with the same problem also. 2. When my furnitures came, 8 out of 10 I rejected. But I accept that S&C is willing to accept my rejections with very very good attitude. I think it's important that a furniture company accept my rejects and rectify the issues that I had. 3. We should know the quality of what we paid for. Am not saying that because we paid less, we have to accept bedframe that make sounds when we get on bed. (That's what is happeneing to mine!) But when I call Mervin and told him my problem, he did not say: Aiyah is lidat one. Which I felt alot of people just this kindle reason. He told me to give him time, he will come down take a look, which he did yesterday! After seeing, he told me to gv him some time to rectify. So i felt, for people who is rushing, pay more and get your stuff from branded shops in malls. But pls don't think that when you buy from them means no problem, you still may end up same problem. For me, I still have time, but hoping to do my house wamring soon thou. What I look at is this person's way of doing business, he didn't shoo me away even thou I was abit petty with the flaws of his things. In return, I compliment him that my purple sofa is really stunning. I took some pictures of my furnitures but don't know how to put it up. Can someone tell me how to do it?
  2. hihi, I usually will wait until my transaction completely over before I make any recommendation. Because I don't want to make my judgement too early and influence others. But I would like to comment on S&C, wanted to look for affordable yet nice furnitures for my new place. Went down once to seesee, Melvin and wife always very busy. Went second time and paid my first order sofa plus coffeetable Third time: bedside table, bedframe, another sofa, Tv console.. shoerack.. eventually, all the furnitures in my hse comes from S&C. Given the affodable price, hubby and I foresee that we are going to reject alot of things. And we took it light because we KNEW we were paying a smaller price for the things we wanted.. When they came, 1x dinner chair have cuts, 1x sofa cushion not thick enough, coffeetable runner spoil, dinnertabletop also need to change. What surprises me was: Melvin is such a nice guy. He never once find us too demanding, he never thinks that because we paaid a smaller price and so we should expects the small flaws! I really don't know what to say about him man. Althou I have to say, we cannot compare the quality of his furnitures with those in expensive malls, but they really look almost the same. But I think during renovation, what is most important is the service and attitude!! He's always polite to our questions, try his best to our expectation. Of coz he forget this and that sometimes. I even have to coordinate with his sofa guy on my own. But all these, I did it willingly. The way he does business, I don't see him like a sales person. He's more like a friend. And I like that he call me sister. Haha.. For ppl who are less fussy about furnitures and wants to get designs at a more affodable price, you should go down and take a look. This kindle service really helps alot esp when you are already so busy with all the reno stuff going on.. ps: I have still aloy of outstanding issues with him thou I think there wun be any issues *keepingfingerscrossed*
  3. anyone tried ez-decor? reviews? I just bought 3sets but now abit scare of the application part, heard abt the bubbles, don't know if I can manage...
  4. Here's my contribution: Downlights - Chealsea Lightings @ Jurong East Blk 353. I bought all my downlights from Aunty Betty because her price is cheaper than those in Geylang/ Balestier. Dinner lights - as I couldn't find something I like from Chelsea, I spent a day walking in and out of lighting shops in Balestier. I even went to lightings.com. Then I finally bought mine from Lights Arcade! Address: 515 Balestier Rd -Albert. I don't know whether I got the best price, but from the one day of walking, he gave me the best price. And to my surprise, he gave top notch service too. Story: I bought Chandelier for my dining, at S$280 and I inspect the crystal one by one. I got to admit, $280 class of chandelier I shouldn't expect much but Albert was so nice to help me with the inspection as well. And he continued his top notch service even after I paid the deposit! I think buying the lightings, we defintely will look at price but must look at service as well. Coz you might still have problem after the delivery etc etc, if you get attitude lousy after sales service, it's gonna add up to your reno stress. Just my 2cents worth =)
  5. anyone bought the U290 from homefix? any reviews?
  6. I also paid 50% deposit for the things I bought from S&C which I thought was ok coz they also scare we run away bah. Forgot to take pictures. I bought a sofa, a coffeetable and a dining table with chairs for $2400. Very diff to get Melvin to give further discount even thou we intend to get all our furnitures from him leh. Sad.
