  1. I've completed my Reno with Bonzon lately and would like to share my view about them. However, when reading this review, do take into consideration that I am a first time home owner who did not have previous experience dealing with any other contractors/ID for renovation works. For my case, I felt David is a reliable guy and I had a good rapport with him. In fact, I entrusted most of the renovation in his hands and he made several on the spot judgement for me when I was out of town. During the entire duration of the renovation, I visited my new place less than 6 times because I have been caught up with parenthood and work. One of the main reasons why I selected Bonzon over the other competitions out there is because, on top of the good rapport, he was able to transform our adventurous ideas into practical realistic designs and he gave us plenty of good sensible renovation advise. We provided him with a set of CAD drawings and floor plan and within a few days, he turned it into 2D drawings with dimensions. David is primarily a contractor but having been in the industry so long, he more or less knows what you want if you can bring to him your ideas which he can visual and later relate. Pricing wise, they are definitely not the cheapest but I found them reasonable. Delivery timing wise, if you are in a rush to complete your renovation, you should let him know up front. For my case, I let him know he can take his time because I am not in a rush to move in. However, he is very much ahead of my intended schedule. Therefore he is always chasing me instead of me chasing him. Worksmanship wise, this is very subjective. I found his worksmanship acceptable though my wife found more flaws in the worksmanship than I did. However, most importantly for me, he was willing to rectify most of the things that we have pointed out though there will be occasions that he will try to dissuade you. Hear him out on his part first before you decide if you want to push through your demands. His advices to me did make sense on most occasions. I guess there are no renovations without hiccups. However, from this latest renovation experience, I realised that the impact of the hiccups can be very much reduced if you can find a contractor/Id that you can communicate well with and depend fully upon. Renovation experience with various people with the same contractor/ID will vary but Bonzon worked for very much well for me.
  2. i have so far purchased from them tv..fridge..washing machine..fan..hob and hood within these 2 mths. everything came on time. Depending on what brands, the Rinnai guys called one hr before delivery. For Samsung, I was given a call in the morning by the guys from *spam prior to delivery to remind me of my delivery in the afernoon. TV Wall mounting was done by the samsung guys and they gave me a call one hr before arrival. Kdk fan purchase was cash n carry through.

  6. Hi all, I was thinking of getting Rinnai's hood. Particularly, I am interested in the RH-991CT. For those who owns or has used this hood before, is it easy to maintain and clean? Does it do its job well for a family which cooks almost everyday? Hope to get your advise on this. Thank you.

  8. For me, if your 32" TV costs $500 and has an existing warranty of 3 years and you have to pay $200 more(which I guess extends it to 5 years), It is definitely not worth it. The world of consumer technology moves at lighting speed.3 years down the road, there will be a TV with better technology and more energy efficient that cost the same as your current TV. Scenerio 1) Let's say if you buy your 32" TV with extended warranty of 5 years and last for you for 6 years and cost you $700 in total, on the average, each year will cost you $116.67 Scenerio 2) You buy your 1st 32" TV which cost you $500 and it breaks down after 3 years. After which, you buy a brand TV of better technology and more energy efficent that last you another 3 years. Therefore, on the average you pay $166.67/year for the 6 years of usual. For scenerio 2, you have to taken into consideration that you are buying a brand new TV after 3rd year. Brand new stuff definitely will most likely last you longer as compared to scenerio 1 whereby your electronic components lifespan would already have been shorten after using for 6 years. For scenerio 2, your brand new TV will most likely be more energy efficent too based on the current route maps of TV development. Therefore, you will save $$$ on your electricity bill. Of course for Scenerio 2, you will be paying $50 more per year. However thinking at a bigger picture, in Scenerio 2, most likely you will get longer mileage from your 2 TVs as compared to scenerio 1. You will also get to potentially enjoy better visual quality effect with your 2nd brand new TV and also save on electricity bill. Therefore, the difference is actually quite negligible. Well, the above is just what I thought of after seeing your post. Hope the above can help you in a way to decide whether to go with the extended warranty option.
  9. Thanks for the helpful response as usual Tiler Seng
