  1. Happy belated birthday!! Wah.... hubby must have burn a big hole... especially after reno expense and all. Tell him not to spoil market. Lucky my wife doesn't get online too often. hehe...
  2. I know that front loads consume less water and stuff.... but in the end, I still buy 7.5kg top load from Samsung. Reason? They are a lot cheaper, like for like!... I paid $359 for mine, I think.... from CTC. What to do? Poor guy like me. Though Samsung is Korean brand, they have a few newer models and come with 5-year warranty on the motor. OK lah. Unlike buying a fuel saving car... I thought that since I am only going to wash my clothes once or twice a week, the weekly savings doesn't justify the premium up front price to be paid. And of course, I lazy to bend down all the time. My two cents....
  3. Sounds good.... but you may what to consider using a plastic sheet (those used for wrapping school text books) to paste on the wall (must use strong tape though) leading to the tray and place the squares and foam matt over it. Not suitable to use the foam matt on the wall as there are holes in between. Let me know how it works out. Cheers.
  4. Maybe this picture will help explain how I did it. I bought the pee tray and grill... then lay the foam matt over it. So when my dog urines on the matt (which is more stable than the grill itself), the urine flows through the matt and grill and onto the tray. My dog's legs will never get wet this way.... and the matt effectively covers most of the smell as well. I actually rinse the matt and tray only once a week. Some urine smell is good as a guide for my dog to return to the same spot. Hassle free and a neat solution... in my view. Hope this helps. As for Babytan, if u don have the grill, its ok... you can consider buying those "plastic floor squares" (sorry, dono the actual name) that people buy and put in bathrooms so that they don't step on wet floors? Common in swimming pool bathrooms as well but they are hard and uncomfortable to step on... thats why I add the foam matt. These squares are cheap and can be used as a layer under the foam matt. I like to use the matt as it makes the surface more stable so that my dog is more willing to step on it. Anyways, with the combo of the squares or the grill, your dog's urine will flow right through and their legs will always remain dry.
  5. Yes... it typically comes in a roll (bigger pieces) or in standard matt sizes, but u can always cut according to the size u want. It does not absorb the urine. The urine flows through into the tray below so my girl doesn't get dirty. I don't know what its called but it is very commonly used for bathrooms or kitchen. Its made of a white soft foam and they can print lots of patterns and design on the surface. Those HDB shops near central that sells kitchen stuff should have.
  6. Most HDB shops selling household items will sell this kind of matt... about $12. Its made of plastic soft foam so definitely reusable. I just rinse it clean... very convenient. I think Bonnie benefited from the fact that we spend a lot of time at home so got chance to scold and reward her accodingly. Even then, I am very lucky to get such a good girl. She seems to have a cleaniless fet... she would cry if she gets urine on her legs or poo stuck on her behind. I think this attitude helps as well.
  7. I noticed you have newspapers over your dog pen. I use those soft matt... it is quite useful in covering the smell and the urine seeps through easily as well... a big plus is the many designs and colours available. You may want to consider it.
  8. All moved in and your place looks great!! Congrats!! I won't worry about the sofa colour... it does well with the colour scheme. Wonder why you picked a "fancier" sink for your common toilet compared to your master toilet. Seems that you should be using the good stuff everyday for yourself instead! Haha... Btw... just FYI... Bonnie is so different from my last dog... in just less than 1.5 months, she is now fully toilet trained!! So happy!
  9. Yup... I had her for less than 3 weeks and she already looked twice the size since the first day. Gosh... I hope she doesn't keep "doubling" else I would have a really big Shih Tzu in my hands. No more "small breed" prices when it comes to grooming services!! Haha...
  10. WOW... this picture looks very professionally taken.. as if there is CG enhancement!!
  11. HI Greycat... Thanks for sharing the info. I also asked the vet during the 2nd vaccination and she said boiled egg is ok but not too often.... and salmon is fine. As for why salmon skin... well... it is easily available in the supermarket and I thought the meat closer to the skin contains more fish oil. But I did use microwave to heat the salmon... didn't know it kills the nutrients. Will watch for that... maybe cook it will boiled water instead. I still feed my puppy salmon skin mixed with her dog food. The juices from the salmon helps to moist the dried food for her. So far... she enjoys it. The dried food I chose is a complete balance mixture of lamb, chicken, fish, rice and veggy. Pet shop people say some dogs may have allergies of some meats but so far, my puppy seems to be ok. I take care in choosing foods without "meals" which means animal by-products. In a way, I am overweighting the meat/protein because I mix it with equal portion of salmon. Anyways...here are more pictures of my puppy :
  12. Wow... din know boiled egg is bad. Ok then, will definitely stop feeding her that. Thanks!
  13. FYI, Legrand has nice champagne colour switches. Best to buy these things yourself from CCM for example instead of relying in your ID.
  14. Ask u ah... is there any problem with me feeding my puppy a mixture of puppy dried food, salmon skin and boiled egg? The dried food is too hard for her limited teeth so I started mixing it with water and other stuff that I can find in our fridge. But dono whether it is healthy for her in the long term. The salmon skin is just plained boiled in the microwave without further seasoning. She seemed to like it. Thought its a good source of fish oil. Boiled egg gives protein but any issues with puppy and cholesterol? Any comments anyone?
