  1. Talking about Primary Schools in Toa Payoh.... euph0bear, Kheng Cheng School is the one behind block 85 is it? Saw that it is so near to our blocks and is covered almost all the way, so my wife and I both decided that most probably will send our son there.... 6 years down the road... Agreed with you that there is not really "good" or "bad" schools... esp primary schools... dun think there is much difference. My younger sis was from Pei Chun, and other than her Chinese more tok kong (becos Pei Chun is essentially a Chinese school), not much diff from myself, who was from a neighbourhood Pri school in Clementi (yeah used to live there) - Pei Tong Primary School. wah after close to 20 years euph0bear still going back to Kheng Cheng to visit his old school.... must have had good memories huh? 2. Hi Mrs Png, Looks like your house is taking shape... and fast! Love your kitchen bi-fold door... very polished look, not like those PVC doors that I have seen in some homes.... is it wooden? And also how it blends in with your feature wall. Feature wall design is simple and elegant. Like it very much as well! Hope to see more pix as you progress!
  3. Hi, Bought my bookcases, wardrobe, short TV console and extendable dining table all from there a month ago. The salesman (Gary) at Sungei Kadut (where I visited and bought from) was very patient, helpful and not pushy despite being near their closing time of 8pm. Furniture are relatively cheap except for the 1+6 extendable dining table with tempered glass top costing us about S$800. All were delivered on-time in 2 batches (because the bookcases were from another supplier) and in relatively good condition and finishing. Table was assembled on-the-spot. Mover / assembler was good by informing me of what are the things to look out for during usage to prolong the life of the furniture. Informative. After-sales service, haven't use them yet because so-far so-good (*touchwood*) Ptro
  4. Hi Cheerie & morning, My kitchen pictures found in the post below might give you some inspirations... http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...843&st=4972 Ptro
  5. Yup, like tension, I also confirm that my 90sqm flat have no toilets in the kitchen - both of them are at the walkway.... so... nope, I do not eat beside the toilet.
  6. Wah I also so late liao ah! But never mind.... Spam Spam Chop Chop! Glad that my kitchen brought "inspiration" to your kitchen! Must take photo of your completed kitchen and share share ah! More pix! More pix! Ptro
  7. I thought I was the only one as well.... my Singtel handphone and my wife's Starhub handphone both very bad reception too! What can be the cause?
  8. Wah why all of you so happening one ah? Use all those bold bold colours... I am a very "safe" man - go for "safe" colours - all my rooms + living room just different shades of white.... lilac white, apple white, pure white (for ceiling), lily white. Mrs Png, when will your carpentry be up? Very interested to see the actual thing after seeing your 3D so nice! Ptro
  9. Hi gadgetman, Thanks for your praise on my kitchen. And you are right in saying that this design is good for a longish kitchen. If I had bought a 5-room, most probably I would not have gone for this design anyways, reason being the 5-room "dining room + living room" is already much bigger (correct me if I am wrong), so I would have just left the dining table in the "dining room". My wife's sis bought a 5-room at Boon Tiong and her dining room + living room is so big as compared to my 4-room lah! But man will always be man... nothing is ever enough, including space... Can imagine your need for more space.... maybe time to rearrange whatever that is still movable in your kitchen? Probably some better space management and discipline might help alleviate the problem a bit? Just a suggestion.... no offence intended. Good luck on your ever-going fight for space! Ptro
  10. Hi Redcrystal / aural / tension, Thanks for all your accolades for my kitchen! :dunno: This space planning is done by our ID, we just told him we die die want the dining table in the kitchen. As this was NOT a normal thing to do, lcy and I were cracking our heads and were using Google Sketch-Up to see how we could do it... Like I said in my earlier post, we chose this ID because he is the only one out of the 3 IDs we went to who is willing and able to design such a requirement into our kitchen nicely. :good: Redcrystal: Judging by how you describe your kitchen is.... you should get quite a roomy kitchen even with the dining table in, but very little kitchen cabinet and top. Even sink and hob would be very tight.... BTW, where is your washing machine then? Anyway, aren't you affected by the column facing the kitchen entrance? Either your dining table would be small to match the column or there would be dead space with the dining table jutting out a bit.... Also, did you make a door for your kitchen? I didn't because I still want to move my dining table out easily when I have guests... Sorry so kpo ask so many questions... Tension: 1) Length of my kitchen cabinet? Haiz, Redcrystal also asked me the same question, just that I too lazy to check.... okok... will go and dig up my files within the next few nights.... 2) Yup I removed the HDB clothes rack... now want to sell it... any lobangs? Ptro
  11. Hey Mrs_Png, Of course lcy's son is also 1 year... Because we have the same son! Yup actually lcy is my missus... :D She already told me about you, that you also have a son about same age as ours, when she first joined Renotalk. BTW, interesting t-blog, have been following it... keep updating! Ptro
  12. Congrats ms_white and shay_d on your marriage! Maybe you wanna share share your wedding dinner pictures soon? Quickly join the gang of young parents @ TPY79 - I agree that we should have kids young - so that we have the energy to chase our kids around when they are older! I myself is the proud father of my 1-year-old son! By the way, my neighbour opposite also just moved in and the wife just gave birth to a son a few days ago! Maybe all of our kids can go to the same primary school? Ptro
  13. Hi Redcrystal, Oh paiseh avatar pic very small... original pic bigger leh. You using Internet Explorer? Actually can right-click on the picture and then "Save Picture As..." somewhere on your desktop, then open the picture can see clearer liao. Easy right? If use Firefox lagi easy - just right-click on pic and choose "View Picture" Anyways decided to just post the few pics up for your benefit... View from the kitchen door (the same one as my avatar): View from the other end of the kitchen (where you see the fridge - the fridge is facing the kitchen door): Got a better picture? Well, hopefully your id can push ahead with your renovations.... sometimes you just have to them to get cracking. Your id company is Sum* Des* is it? Saw in the forum Alister also had problems with his id from same co.... we also asked Alister's id for a quote but was not that impressed with his initial designs. Ptro
  14. Hey Redcrystal, I have put up a photo of my kitchen. Instead of PM you, I have decided to share with everybody as an avatar instead. I don't remember how long is the kitchen cabinet but I think from the avatar photo you can get the idea. There is around 8 feet of space from the fridge corner to the kitchen cabinet for my dining table. Maybe you can put up a photo of your kitchen as well? Just to share share...? Ptro
  15. Hi Redcrystal, Had wanted to take the photo yesterday, but forgot as I was too busy.... sorry about it. Will try and take the photo within this week and PM you. Ptro
