Shopping For Furnitures In Malaysia

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Headed down to JB today and did some shopping ard JB area.

Visited a few furniture shops, notably

(1) Rustica

(2) Lorenzo

(3) Miva

(4) Raywillis and some smaller neighbourhood like shops...

Anyone has any experience with furnitures hunting in Malaysia to share?

Thinking of getting those furnitures at Miva cos saw some really nice ones..

Anyone bought from there before? Care to share?

Hi very interesting post

Are the pictures taken from Miva?

Is this the location and their website?

http://miva.com.my/

http://miva.com.my/location_map.html

The price below includes transport and miscellaneous costs?

sorry so many questions cos i was quoted by Evov at 1.6 k for the same table

thanks

Hi u refering to the dining table? I was quoted at 1,999RM, transport at 250 RM + 7% GST.

But if you buy above a certain amount, then transport its free...

Yup u are rite.. thats the one I went, but their website not very informative though..

Hmm the quality is pretty alright.. btw that table I saw at Raywallis.. ard the same area as Miva

Miva is not bad.. heard they have new stock coming in June..

They have Red Apple there too..

Can see see lorenzo or Rustica if you like their style also..

Maybe if you want, we can pool and see if can save on transport cost?

But I haven decide wut to get yet though.

Woo looks very nice, the dining table. :thumbs up: Saw that shop before I think but never go in at all.

Like glass tables with steel/chrome legs somemore. More classy. Its about 1000+ sgd if converted into sg currency right? Does it come together with the dining chairs or just on its own? 'Cos furniture shops will have their pricing differently for dining table & chairs separately. So it will work out to be slightly more if it does not include the price for the chairs as well.

The price does include the chair.. but I think its not chrome legs maybe just some metal leg or something..

Finishing not as exquisite but not bad for the price itself..

That would be a good buy if includes the chairs too. But I notice that you mention that you were quoted the price + transport + 7% GST right? But where is the tax levy??

You have to pay for the tax levy, confirm chop. 'Cause got to bring into sg ma. Unless the furniture shop absorbing the tax levy cost?

Not too sure abt the tax levy, but check with Miva and levy abt 100RM.

But normally if above a certain quota, transport and levy is absorbed by them..

Only need to pay GST ...

Better be sure about the levy when you've purchased your furniture. 'Cos I believe that the tax levy is like if you bring in goods into sg where the value has to be declared & the levy calculated by the relevant party, ie; the custom, is based on the value.

Happy shopping though with more pix of your buys. :P

but if they r somewhat scattered, then i'll need to plan the route and time carefully.
