Has Anyone Use I-bridge Design?

Recommended Posts

I took a quotation from there but it seems to be on the high side.

Moreover, I requested for a particular ID; in the end, he got this asst to do up the quotation and contact me.. not really happy with that.

Haven met up with them to discuss more yet..

Any else have engage I-Bridge as their ID?

Meeting up with their ID ro get a quote soon.

Met one of their ID at an exhibition. Went thru' our requirements and floor plan in detail. Told me they will send me a quote in a week's time. Now 3 weeks has passed and no quotation was received despite I'd emailed to remind them.

Will give them a miss.

same thing happened to us

we oso feel that the designer is pretty new... there wasnt much designing done instead we were asked where we want to place this and that and etc

more of we are doing the designing ourselves so why do we need to engage an ID instead of contractor in this case?

read that they have over 10years exp and initial reno quote looks quite ok for a 3rm flat , around 20K...

any comments?

Read from somewhere that the owners were formerly from Square Rooms.

They are on my shortlist. The ID I'm speaking to is Tommy. A bit 'beng' but seems quite experienced.

I happened to walk pass their office and went in to hear what they had to say. Think he tried to test water in the beginning by asking us to pay $1k after our discussion in order to show our intention.. and then they can produce the 3Ds for us which we can keep... and that if we don't use them in the end, the $1k can be converted into vouchers to buy lights in the shop next door. But when I told him i've heard of such tactics from the forum, he kinda knew I won't be easy meat. But other than that initial 'test', he's been nothing but helpful and suggested many ways to reduce cost, cos our budget is really miniscule. He even took one and a half hour during our 2nd meeting to explain his quotation and to answer our queries. I even threw in some questions where I already knew the answers (learnt from this forum mah) just to test whether he knows his stuff or whether he is sincere... which I generally feel he is. (Not sure if that will be the case if I sign... **** ... always worried if I become a victim of any of these ID firms... :()

Price wise... average.. you know how they are... cheap on some areas, expensive on others. Come to think of it.. Eureka! I just realised.. the smart IDs will quote you cheaper on the areas you highlight as most important because they know you've been comparing the carpentry on those areas... then they take the chance to add in the extras on other areas that they hope you never take notice of. For example, false ceiling and light box... some can charge you as high as $5 psf for false ceiling when others are only $2.50 psf. Mine charged me $200 for placing cardbox protection around the house when others gave it free! And how they do this sometimes is by doing more detailed breakdowns for the 'important' quotes and lump everything together for others. Maybe its not the case your others here.. but I just realised it is for mine.

My shortlist so far

1) Unimax Creative

2) I-Bridge Design

3) Sky Creation

Waiting...

4) Classic Furniture - a.k.a. Classic Kitchen in this forum

Prob not...

5) Seng Kwong Furniture - They are more carpenters who are supposed to be specialised in Wardrobe and Kitchen. Quote was quite reasonable considering they use Hettich German innotech silent closing mechanisms for their swing doors and drawers. But somehow... not that comfortable with the person who served me... reminds me of the boss of my last choice...

Definitely not...

6) Mudian.. - more becos poor man like me cannot afford them, went to their showroom... drool....

7) Inch Design - Former Golden haired woman (Janet) from Co'zy has started this company - My wife was persuaded to put a deposit for one of her packages before I read all the bad things about her in Singapore Brides forum and maybe here also. Was hoping that we might be luckier.. but like they say, a leopard never changes its spots. What's worse is she condemned every ID and said their design sucks and that they copy her ideas. In any case, this company is like Seng Kwong - they don't do wet works and are supposed to be furniture manufacturers but they have their sub cons who will do your reno if you choose them as your ID. If I tell you more about my bad experience with her, I'll prob have my blood vessels bursting. fuming!!

Anyway... back to I-Bridge.. they are one of Nippon Paints preferred ID firms. Not sure if that says anything. But their portfolio is pretty impressive. But ... ID ID ID... must be comfortable with them... and must hope they are reliable and responsible... Wish I had some detector to scan each and every ID I meet... urgghhh

Hmmm... no one seems to have any comments on I-bridge Design. Not sure if that's good or bad.

Saw them featured in Look Box 2009 Special Edition. But am hoping for mere mortals like me who have little moolah to share their experience on how I-bridge managed to stretch their dollar.. to make the $20+k look like a $40k work... and also if there's any pictures of their workmanship.

Yes. I-bridge is a good design firm.

They have done many of my jobs.

1) They uses quality materials.

2) Most of the designers are very experienced and know what they are talking about

3) They have very good designs and ideas

4) Some design firms goes for cheaper contractors even if their workmanship is bad to gain maximum profit. But I-bridge goes for the quality onces with cheap price.

5) Their company's reputation is quite good

Has anyone here engaged their service and also any comments about their workmanship??

Im quite pleased after the 1st discussion, generally there is a connection between both party.

However to fork out a 1K w/o having seen any quotation...

I do feel alittle uncomfy about it.
