My Bad Experience With My Em Renovation

Recommended Posts

Oooppps that is bad! Must ask them redo it, or touching up and ask for partial refund. Just my 2 cents. I will not accept this kind of defect , it means isn't pro enough. For me I will pursuit to get consumer justice.

phew! At least I know where I stand now.

I've been psycho by them countless time... so much so I have forgotten my rights!

This is the first reno of my life... and I am very inexperienced. I am glad I stumbled upon this thread and turned out it's the same company.

Thank you all for your advices. And thanks to the TS for informing the boss about my case too.

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

How I wish I've read your blog much earlier, especially point 4 regarding the protection on the flooring, my current ID is doing exactly as you've described, only protecting the floor with card board (and only for those area they are placing trash, cement, etc, ie. walkway are naked and unprotected!). I found this on the first night when i went for inspection, but it is too late as the damages have been done on the flooring, countless of scratches and I couldn't find a good tile (few days after the area is cleaned) within 430 sqft living hall + dining area tiles...

Struggling for few days and now engaging Tiler Seng to hack and replace the entire flooring, will post more details on this ID as a warning to others after I've received the "compensated payment" from them for such damage. Guess how much (less) they compensate me?

Planning to complain to CASE after that, keep a lot of photos as evidences, couldn't retain the actual evidence as I am rushing to move in very soon...

In my case, my parquet flooring was harmed even though they had placed cardboard on the floor.

I had warned them about it but still things happened.

2 patches on the parquet floor. I asked them to change the strips but they claimed that it is difficult and that they might have to change the entire floor in that room. Kept insisting that it looks fine after polishing.... also kept telling me like making a loss already..blah blah blah.

oh by the way, better check your windows.

mine were chipped during hacking works. sighh... countless mistakes.

though they replaced the windows for me..but think about the time lost for me???

Thanks to this forum. Today, I got a phone call from this company boss, Dr. Sky Tan and we met at my place to inspect all the defects and discuss possible solution. He admitted that his sub-contractor workmanship is below standard and promised to settle all the defects within 2 weeks and extend 1 more year warranty. I wasn’t very happy because he still will use back the current carpenter. The reason is that they have built a new cabinet and he want me to give them a chance. OK, I agreed but that is my very last time.

I will stop post for the time being and let them redo the cabinet, touch up and replace those defectives items. he further explained that he is in the midst of renewing CASE Trust accreditation and BCA certification, so I will seek clarification with CASE Trust and BCA.

Thanks all of you and you supports.

Hope everything turn out well for you.

Anyway I kay kay bring my floor plan go visit them at Expo, then I shoot them with the CASE Trust accreditation and BCA certification questions.

The guy also stump, cannot answer me. lol

OK. After meeting with the Boss, SKY Tan, rectification works start to move faster and on the right direction. Now I getting positive attitude and solution rather than excuses and uncooperative behaviour. He came down personally on Monday to check on the carpenter works and station his new project manager whole day to supervisor the rectification works. After some chit-chat with him, I find him honest, down to earth, friendly and responsible unlike his manager who always broke his promises. Because of his sincerity and positive working attitude of his people, I compromised on certain issues. His project manager is good and very experience. I will post some pictures later to show the difference.

If he will to intervene early, the damage might be smaller. This is the area he need to ponder how he can discover all those cases of poor handling by his people.

Glad that things turn out better for your Reno.

Got to give credit to the boss for stepping in.

Hope RenoJoy issues will be resolved too.

Hi peeps,

As Songz had put it, I think I ought to update all on the status of my reno.

Have to give credit when credit is due. :thumbs up:

I have closed the case with my renovator as well as this chapter of my life (wahhh sound so drama ma ma). :bleah:

They have rectified the issues I had pointed out to them. Thanks to the boss who stepped in. :jammin:

Like what TS had said, all these would have been avoided if he had done so earlier.

That being said, must give a thumb up for Dr Sky Tan for being "a man of his words".

Wishing all ....a smooth-sailing renovation.

NOW, it's time for me to enjoy the fruit of my 'labour'!!

Cheers~

Are you talking about the same company as them ?

Try contacting them or go down the company to check on them, withheld any other outstanding payment you have for now
