Sharing some of the purchases that I have taobao-ed so far but not yet arrived. I did my own sourcing, but the main criteria to online shop is to always check out the seller ranking and the feedback on the items by other customers. Like all the others, I will only give the links here and review them after I have receive them physically. This is to ensure that that the item is really good to use. Don't want to intro bad stuffs to you all also at the same time. Nonetheless, if you die die want the link and cannot wait, drop me a PM. ;)

For my living room & dining room area, I bought these items:

Mainly downlights and track lights for the corridor. I also managed to source for the exact same light shown in the inspiration photo. The man and I love this light and couldn't find it anywhere at first. Taobao rocks. The floral spotlight is for our shoe cabinet. :D

Also decided to get our coffee table and dining table in this design. Both which will only be purchased as the second batch. First batch mainly consists of lightings, basins and taps etc.

Moving on to the next area, our kitchen!

kitchenarea_zpsd1d6b6cd.jpg

The light is kind of artistic right? My first choice was OOS, and I managed to find this as a replacement light. But this light kind of grew on me and I love it more than the first choice now. Got the popular sellena sink, drainer and tap as well, heard of the recent rust problems and I am going to get the SS stain spray to ensure that this sink will be good to go in time to come. I am also looking forward to have a pull out larder installed for my canned food. Told the man this is a must and I refuse to budge on it. Heh heh.

Also, as our recess area in the kitchen is all fixed with spray glass, we do not wish to risk drilling into it and breaking the glass, hence I managed to find these suctioned handle to be used to hang all the utensils to dry.

The eubiq track is a recent purchase in a expo sale. We bought the 1000mm SH1 track, was given 5 TLH4 adapters and a lamp. It comes with free kitchen rack for a deal of $399, cash and carry.

Next, I will be touching on my common bathroom area, something that I have not been talking about. Mainly because I am keeping the tiles that HDB has given me. I am glad that it is in the shade of blue mosiac tiles, because I want it to be of a sea theme, not really the nautical theme but think of seashells, mermaid and the ocean. :yeah:

Gonna have the same rainshower and spraygun set for my MBR bathroom. Wanted something to stand out as a feature in the common bathroom, so we decided to go for a stand alone basin. The mirror and light is also meant to be matchy with the blue mosiac tiles.

Last but not least, I will go on to my MBR area, because it is my favourite and I am biased towards it. Lol, I can talk about it forever but I don't wish to bore you guys with the details. So hopefully the pictures will do the talking.

After browsing through zillions of french furnitures, the man still think that majority of the furnitures are very ugly. The man have higher and stricter standards as compared to me so after viewing like 23143 pages, I finally came across this set of vanity table with matchy side table. I loved it and showed it to him and he reply,"美!" Meant beautiful in chinese, thus there we have it, our confirmed set of furniture we will buy for batch 2. The smaller french looking light will be placed on top of the bed and the chandelier, obviously in the vanity table. I have also showed a brief preview of what my wallpaper is going to be for the MBR if you can spot it. Also shown in the picture are our bedside lamps and atas looking tissue box (a must for the man cos he is always sneezing). Lastly, the pair of angel decoration that I have to have. Had to  before the man gave the green light for this. I simply love it, it completes the french MBR to a perfection level.

There are still many stuffs that I have placed for order but simply too many to share so they can be reserve for future posts. The agent I am using is peeka. I know they are not the cheapest, but they are also the best at repackaging and ensuring that the items do not break, i.e. inspection in the warehouse. Thus, it is like buying extra security. :dancingqueen:

Hi Snowy,

I have finished reading your blog but noticed that you did not mention the sink accessory you got off TB. Is it worth getting?

If it is worth it, may I have the link please? I was quoted $59 for 1 such "basket" in Heritage & is wondering if it will be cheaper to buy in TB.

Any issue with rust?

Congrats on your new place. Glad that reno was a "sea-breeze" for you :)

Regards,

Weiyan

Hi Wei Yan,

The one that I showed on the picture was out of stock, but you can try purchasing it now. Link

In the end I got was this one. Personally I did not use it much after I got those draining bowls. Because:

1) It takes up space.

2) I like to separate those bowls/plates that I have soaped into the smaller portion, hence I have to remove that whenever I am going to do the dishes.

3) I prefer the smaller drainage holes. This is however, more suitable for fruits and bigger cuts of vegetables etc.

So probably if I purchased the one that I originally wanted, it would probably have been better. However, I am not too keen on the wood handles after seeing how my wooden stool that I placed in the bathroom turned out. Lol. That was a regretful purchase because fungus started to grow after 1 month plus. I have since replaced the chair with a cheap plastic version. Other than this, the rest of the taobao stuffs are still working fine.

Yay to my 3rd page, never thought that I will be posting so religiously. But everything is just too exciting for a new flat owner. :jammin:

Now I can understand how people have over 10 over pages and I love reading up all of the long long entries during my pre-renovated state.

Made a trip to my house again yesterday and realized that my acrylic panels in the bathrooms are up. I topped up for these acrylic panels as well because they will make the ambience complete. HDB usually provide a netted finish and box to cover up the unsightly toilet pipes (with exception: top level).

Just to give an illustration:

Photo taken off the net. I forgot the source unfortunately because I forgot to snap a photo of my pre-renovated state. But this is how it usually look.

For the common bathroom, I stuck to the more yellowish LED strip because I find yellow compliments with blue. Yes, remember my sea theme for the common bathroom? It is actually coming to realization soon.

commonbathroomacrylicpanels_zps9b5339d2.

This is the effect when I switch on the LED strip only. Very soothing and romantic.

As for my MBR bathroom, I decided to go for warm white T5 instead. This is so because T5 is generally brighter, and as my MBR bathroom is pre-domineering black, I want it to look not so gloomy but feel comfortable when I used it. Here is a sneak peak of my humongous storage mirror, opted for red ABS trimmings so you can have a peek of red on the top and bottom. Will go through more of what I have done for these bathrooms in detail soon.

I find that with these acrylic panels, it instantly give a face lift to the standard HDB toilets. Can't deny that I am even more obsessed with my bathrooms now. :dancingqueen:

can pm me where you got these acrylic panels? TIA

hi Snowy,

I started looking at Taobao as my BTO is coming up...erm...I am a bit unfamiliar using Taobao so hope you dont mind me asking some noobie questions...

1. Firstly, the website we are all referring to is www.taobao.com right?

2. Some of the furniture I want to order do not seem to have listed dimensions. Would Taobao confirm with you before the order?

3. I am not familiar with their kind of wood they used, like "you mu" is what wood, as I want to get matching furniture. Same as above, how do I get someone from Taobao to assist?

4. I am looking into wall papers too but will someone from Taobao assist in calculating the qty that I would need?

Thanks.

Wilson

if you are considering Pang Giap window grilles or pang giap iron gate, take a look at the attached pictures.

Update August 2017:

I've removed all sharing feedback and actual pictures of window grills and iron gate by Pang Giap (PG). PG sent me a letter demanding me to remove the pictures and demanded payment from me to compensate for their loss in business and reputation with my previous sharing of photos of their products. I do not wish to have any more dealings with PG hence removing the pictures.

There are other review of Pang Giap in this forum which was not written by me and hence unable to remove.

***No negative comments nor posting of their products pictures**
