Yup, we are hacking off HDB tiles & wooden flooring at rooms and replaced with our preferred tiles throughout the whole house.

Hi butterscotch,

When you found the tiles were somewhat bent, and you decided to hack them all away, was it done by your id or hdb? Did they redo the cement screeding too? Foc? Or what was the damage? Many thanks!

Everything was done by my ID. Hacking plus, cement screed and lying of tiles.

Bedroom Doors are up too!

Wish all an advanced CNY!

Finally, the last part where the furniture are coming!

TV Console from Red Apple Furniture

IMG-20141129-WA0062.jpg

In my previous post, I have shared that do not buy from Red Apple. This is because the samples of the laminates they showed us is different from the one they delivered. I didn't have a chance to take the photo of the sample laminate.

As we have purchased furniture from 2 different furniture shops, we try to blend the colours together. After seeing the sample laminate (old and discoloured), we though that it can fit into our furnishing well. They have informed us that the colour may deviate about 10% from the sample laminate and will be lighter as compared to the sample laminate. However, to our surprise, it came to us darker. We called them and even went to their showroom again and brought one piece they delivered (small), the colour difference to us is more than the 10% they promised. They even said after using for a year, the colour will change to the sample laminate. We know it is a losing case and were very disappointed. The divider and the tv console now does not fit into our furnishing. After learning from the incident, in the future, we are only going to buy from a single furniture shop :( .

Since it does not fit into our furnishing for the divider and the tv console, we decided to modify abit. We decided to give some white coating to blend into our furnishing...

Hi,

I got it from my ID. I just googled for the photo and show my ID and he sourced the door for me.

For the whiten the finishing, it depends on the laminates. I used normal white paint to paint on it and wiped off to give this kind of effect. (It's an try and error which we found it pretty nice.)

They are actually home-based interior designer with no website. You will not be able to find them on the web.

The total renovation cost is about 40k and I think it will be better if you find them for a quote. U can contact them at 9690 7887.

After deliberating our choices, we ended our search by picking Renoguyz (Nic). I supposed many are very familiar with Nic from Renoguyz. We felt that they understood our needs/demands the best and also fitted our budget very well.

Will update this blog with more details and pictures soon!! =)

Thank you for your review!
