Instant Heater Recommendation

Recommended Posts

I am also using 707 Compact. Had been using it for the past 1mth. Suprisingly the cheaper heater I bought, Mistral also is good. But then again not sure which of the 2 above will stand through the test of time.

for Instant Heater wise, brands like 707 defintely is an branded and can last for 10 years as it's local brand , price wise also cost higher than others as it is really worth for it. JOVEN & MISTRAL also another good selection for heater as they are pro in instant heater..............ALPHA or AMASCO is a new brand in the market and their core business is CEILLING FANS not instant heater and that's why 10 years warranty given and selection for instant heater is based on its realibility and sales after service, for ALPHA instant heater, if you pay attention of its surface, u will notice Scratches................................i am not sabotage ALPHA...just share with your guys my expericene with ALPHA........

Currently also sourcing. One uncle at jalan besar recommend Viva - claim the material used inside is better using copper. Also thinking of getting 707 instead as all heater look the same to me. Need some expert advice also :dancingqueen:

I just bought a Viva heater yesterday. Not sure whether is it good or not. Anyway, where is the manufacturer located? Got one shop says its from Japan, another says its from Singapore. So which is which? Thanks.

707 is an old brand but very reliable. Price is also more ex than most of the instant heaters in the market. My parents 707 lasted close to 20yrs before it decided to 'retire'. My buyer is still using our 707 which is coming to 11 years. Our current place using Alpha and heard its quite popular these recent months due to the wide variety of colours.

I am also using 707 Compact. Had been using it for the past 1mth. Suprisingly the cheaper heater I bought, Mistral also is good. But then again not sure which of the 2 above will stand through the test of time.

i walked past this shop "prestige lights & fan specialist" at jln besar yesterday evening

& enquired about 707 water heater.

e saleslady told me 707 water heater is made in msia & e parts are not as gd as before, with a lifespan of about

3 to 4 yrs. she introduced me to a japan brand called viva 300 for ard same price ($160) & showed me the inner

component saying it's made of copper & won't spoil so fast like those made of plastic, it's also an anti scald model.

when wifey asked about those older models of 707, she said they don't have any more of those, spare parts hard to get.

can anyone comment on 707 water heaters if there's any truth in this?? if true, what's the nxt best brand to use?

How about getting an 2nd opinion from other shops about 707 heaters? Some salesperson gets more commission from the other brand, so may tend to promote the other brand.

I personally know an old lady whose 707 heater is still working after 18 years! I'm thinking of getting this brand if my current heaters spoil.

Regretted buying the Cornell Multi-purpose heater CIS-S100MP at $330. The heater leaked soon after it was installed, and we called the repairman to come and repair. Then after 8 months, the heater spoiled and we have to endure cold showers over the weekend while waiting for the repairman to come. After the repairman changed the heating element, there was hot water but the heater was leaking again! Very irritated by such over-priced lousy product!!!

i tried google for Cornell CIS-S100MP, it doesnt return any useful result. Either you read the model number wrongly or you are trying to be funny.

you should blame yourself for not doing homework; you should just buy a new one and replace the lousy piece once and for all.

Hi, I am interested in 707 alphine. Need to replace a spoilt heater. Anyone knows how much does it cost? Thanks.

Hi, I've been asking around today & found brands like 707, Mistral, Alpha. A old salesman told me to get heaters with copper in tank compared to plastic as heating is faster & not prone to leak. Amongst this 3 brands, 707 & Mistral is copper while Alpha is plastic.

Asked a shop (Soon Lin Building, corner shop, along Syed Alwi Road) & their 707 Compact $165, Alpine $185 & Protek $195, cash & carry, very good price as all other shops are selling above $200.

I called up *spam @ AMK, they only have Compact & Prestine, both above $200, so they're not cheap at all. Goh ah bee's line is always engaged.

I went a shop to ask bout AMASCO & after some conversation, e lady asked me to go get 707 cos 707 confirmed e best, she said...

Then i went to Mustafa & e sales lady there seems pretty knowledgable as she mentioned Mistral has 2 heating elements which is better, while 707 is a bit more ex than other brands due to their long standing branding but still e most trustworthy. But 707 sold there are all above $200.

Ok, here's something i wanna share with u guys... U know those models with 2 knobs (1 is with 1, 2 & 3 heat switch while e other provides a range), the knob that provides range is actually what controls the water flowing into e heater, cooler (water pressure bigger means more powerful water), hotter (water pressure smaller means less powerful water). So as to say those with only a single knob will come with a water pressure regulator to be fixed outside in between e inlet & e tubing, to control water pressure. Those 707 with double knobs have this regulator fixed inside e heater thus having 2 knobs.

My question to all e salesperson dun seem to give me a satisfied answer... Can i have both powerful water pressure & very hot water at e same time? If u realised, by turning down yr water pressure e water coming out is getting hotter & vice versa... so i asked e Mustafa sales lady, can e mistral 909i, a single knob (ranging) give me godd water pressure throughout if i dun fix e external water regulator? She say can...

So my dilemma now is to get e 707 protek $195 or Mistral 909i $129... both e copper heating element
