Nothing could be less welcoming than a dark, cloistered and stuffy home. This semi-detached house was precisely just that before Dave Ng from IDEMBOSS stepped in to correct the situation. Empowered by its busy owner, John Seow, Dave conceptualized a light filled, open living space with a hint of a resort feel. Breaking down walls to open up the space and exploiting peripheral space allows natural light to flow thorough the house, Dave’s imagination slowly came to life.
Passive Greenery

As one enters the front door, one can’t help but notice the subtle greenery in the form of vibrant grass and small shrubs on the periphery of the house, flanked by dark brown wooden tones contrasted with grey-toned walls pebbles. Within the house, the colour consistency is maintained with a wide, welcoming entrance leading into a spacious living hall, perfect for entertaining.

Dark solid timber toned furniture flanked by sand toned marble floors lends a clean and resort feel to the dining hall. A large mirror panel which lies along the wall beside the dining area, coupled with full length glass doors that open out to the landscaped yard complete with a waterfall running into a koi pond, further enhance the open feel of the house.

White Functionality
The kitchen is the epitome of neat functionality, wonderfully rendered in a tone of pristine white. A central dry area allows the family to grab a quick, no fuss breakfast before school and work while the many ordered cupboards help tuck away the unsightly clutter traditionally associated with a normal kitchen.

Silent Sanctuary
Heading up the tinted glass lined stairwell, one is greeted by a cosy private TV area. Flanked by a master bedroom with walls in a gentle golden hue interspaced with passive grey, this private space feels safe and peaceful. A TV wall facing the unassuming coffee table and sofa sits a bit beyond the bed, demonstrating the wide expanse of space freed up after the remodeling of the house. The use of diffuse lighting emanates from the corners of the room, casting an austere glow on the room.

Sharp, clean lines delineate the various corners of the ensuite bathroom. The black tiles along a wall is contrasted with the brown tiles in the shower area and light grey tiles of the sinktop, elegantly spacing out the different segments of the bathroom. The recessed ceiling further adds to the illusion of space whilst the broad mirror spanning across the sink top adds depth to the toilet.
