Article : An Inspirational Delight

Having the luxury of a large space to live in is enviable, but doing it up so that it looks cohesive and put together takes professional help. At this 2,300 square feet penthouse condominium unit, ID Emboss worked closely with the owners who also carve their niche in the creative line to bring their ideas to fruition.

Inspiration is quintessential particularly for those in the creative line. Hence one might presume that when the owners – a young Caucasian couple – wanted their home to be bright and open, they had wanted to have inspiration come easily to them. Afterall, ideas need space to work.

Like a clean slate where original ideas are expressed, the apartment is predominantly white. This allowed plenty of room for free play by the owners to jazz up the interiors and stamp their personality and style.

Eye-catching posters line the walls and those of the stairways. Stone replicas of the terracotta army add interest to and complement a simple wooden TV console. Potted plants are placed strategically around corners, basking in the ample sunlight that stream in generously through the bay windows. Natural teakwood door frames and staircase were stained a dark walnut finish to add contrast to the white walls, creating a more lived-in vibe. Visitors and owners alike will delight in the interesting touches that the owners have put in to give the home character.

The open concept kitchen that is right beside the living area best presents how the owners enjoy an unrestricted feel when it comes to their home. The owners had realised that the kitchen was too small for their liking so walls were knocked down and an open concept kitchen was created. A bar table in high gloss lacquer casually delineates the kitchen and living area, and makes it easy for the owners to host a large group of friends over a dinner. On the underside of the bar hides adjustable down lights that complement the embedded lighting on the ceilings as an out-of-the-box lighting to preserve the clean lines that are predominant in this apartment.

The bedrooms enjoy being naturally lit by the ample light coming in through the windows, sheltered partially by roller shields that complete the modern and clean look. Be they photographs, posters or a mirror, paraphernalia line the bedroom walls so there is never a dull moment.

The end result - a modern, bright and fresh-looking apartment with eclectic accents that exemplifies the creativity and style of its owners.
