Fabian, here's my take;

toilet bowl - if ur a$$ feels comfy, its done deal. no need to tink so much. the toilet bowl is not going to be an object of desire to be admired at, so there. unless u hv a fetish for it..... :jawdrop:

basin - i'm inclined to agree with sam jie on the practicality issue of choosing the chio basin. cleaning it may be a biatch. but then again, @ the risk of sounding like a mcp, if u r not the cleaning, then just buy it lo..... :notti:

my 2 sens, with a heavy dosage of jest intended. :dancingqueen:

p.s: hwz ur reno progress? :sport-smiley-018:

Bought 2pcs for my kids toilet. Will post more pix in my tblog. As for cleaning, will rely on old toothbrush and Jif to do the job. A circular has been sent to every member of the family urging them to pick up every strand of hair or tooth paste drop onto the basin. Will also have a "Be Considerate : Keep our basins clean" Campaign poster on the vanity mirror. Hope I have covered all grounds. Will keep you posted once we start using/cleaning it.

we had wanted to have the sink on the right too, but was cautioned (by the salesgirl hereself!) that if it will be difficult to clear if blockage etc. Also cleaning the "inside" may pose some challenge

I'm aso worried for u if u choose the one on the right. cleaning will have prob. And believe me, if prob with cleaning, u will be frustrated by the 3rd or 4th clean and it's either u will get a maid to do it or u wun do it at all!

The reality of CLEANing it brought me back to earth :o

basin - i'm inclined to agree with sam jie on the practicality issue of choosing the chio basin. cleaning it may be a biatch.

point cleanly noted. haha... alas, it seems like i can't buy that afterall.

cause id has advised the puny size i can have for my common toilet liao. L450 x W410 the max

recommendations any one?

Just my experience: For rain showers, its better to check you water pressure first. It should be at least 1.5bar. Of course 2-3 is idea. That was the recommendation from Hans grohe catalog.

speaking of which, am still pestering my id to get plumber to check it out for me.

still, 4th flr, newer flat and water heater all seem to be pointing to a gd news for my raindance!

i'll keep my fingers and toes crossed

good call on the JS, its one of those brands you can't go wrong with - when i was a little boy & i learning to spell...johnson sussie was the longest word i could spell right :P

did the lady boss mention which brands had poor flusing or leakage issues? im really partial to crizto, support local brand & all right (but of coz not if they make crappy products rigth) but there is not much review on them & my contractor can't shed much light on crizto either...tough call...

toilet bowl - if ur a$$ feels comfy, its done deal. no need to tink so much. the toilet bowl is not going to be an object of desire to be admired at, so there. unless u hv a fetish for it.... :jawdrop:

to think i actually believe that TOTO was spelled "cheap" when i was a little boy.

now, it seems i need to strike 4D to indulge in TOTO. ha!

well, the all common packages going around with the exact same wc design are either from baron (they say is thailand made), crizto (china made), magnum (china made) and casanova (made with love i think. haha). those selling them, say no problem at all, same flushing system. those not selling them say otherwise. tough call indeed.

but wife commented (and that's quite final btw) that common toilet can go "cheong" one cause we indeed like the sleek clean design and mbr go reliable (read: expensive) and designer chic

darth... yes a$$ must feel comfy indeed. we were considering a johnson suisse without sitting on it initially. yesterday, at another shop we sat down on the JS "como" and realised it was not quite comfortable at all. true la, not an object of desire, but an object of waste removal - scare cheap but contents not removed in 1 flush then "or ba kakz" liao. and worse if kidda split the contents, the undigested "tow kay" and dragon fruit seeds all floating around and and and.... ok, i shall stop here. hahaha

p.s: hwz ur reno progress? :sport-smiley-018:

progress report in next post!

how's yrs then?

our water closets for mbr hunting took us to royal franco, universal union and bacera rainyesterday. disclaimer: not the usual packages and is a little irritating expensive.

royal franco has the regular packages but the uncle and us didnt really click so was a matter of ask and go. and yet again, the exact same wc design we want for our common toilet is from another brand, this time round Magnum. brutally honest after hearing from so many sales uncles and aunties? they' all PRC made lei..

over at universal union, some hope offered as we spotted 2 that caught our eyes for the mbr

Johnson Suisse - i almost jumped when i rested my bum on it cause it was really not comfy at all!

JSComoWC.jpg

and it was a unheard one in RT - Bacera that we stayed the longest and was served by a nice lady who took time to really toured with us in this 2 storey shop.

plentiful of wcs and basins designs to look at and it was there our eyes set on this;

Arino WC-Caprio - with Giberit (does it work for wcs? tot meant for concealed sys only) system

IMG_4165.jpg

interrupted by another sales, the nice lady excused herself and kept apologising during the almost half an hour wait for her to finish that sales. doesn't matter cause wife and i really simulated and dry-run our big business by sitting at the wcs we want for the whole duration of waiting.

confirmed the sitting is definitely comfortable.

is the price we're not comfortable with. all above $350 per piece for the above

HAIZ...

as mentioned, we stayed the longest in Bacera. wife and i also spotted our next selection of basins based on specs given by id.

IMG_4144.jpg

as for mbr, i choose

IMG_4153.jpg

she choose

IMG_4160.jpg

designly, i think my selection is nicer cause i find the lines are easier on the eyes and softer but d a r n, my choice is much more expensive. ha!

till saturday then when my id will give his final piece before we confirm the buy.
