Hi, Need advice. Looking at re-running the aircon piping and in the process re-locating the aircon. Currently location of aircon position tends to limit the "play" area for space & layout. Appreciate any inputs and pricing on how the charges are done. Cheers!

Hey Renotalkers! I've been reading the T-blogs for ages now and finally it seems like its time for me to start my own! Got shackled to the lovely missus a month ago and now we're embarking on an exciting journey to build our very first home. We actually decided on the house late last year. We were torn between a smaller (and cheaper) 4 rm in Marine Parade with all its brilliant amenities; or a somewhat unknown area of Cassia Crescent which was quiet and closer to the city. At first we were leaning towards Marine Parade since they only had corridor units available in Cassia that could be sold to Chinese. But then on our regular trawl of propertyguru we suddenly found a 5 room @ Cassia that we were eligible for! We were previously only looking at 4 rooms but when I saw that one i immediately searched online for the floorplan and fell in love. Unlike the 5 rooms in marine parade, this layout had no odd wall that I couldn't use. It already had a balcony which i love and just suited our lifestyle needs perfectly. In fact, I think I half decided on the place based on the floor plan alone! haha. Being really close to the HUGE hawker center helps too. And we hope that the new stadium will bring more life and amenities to the area. Already we see a number of cool coffeshops / pubs popping up in geylang. But this isn't a property forum! It's a reno one! So here is our floorplan! Well, the actual house will be horizontally inverted but this was ripped off the net. HDBFloorPlan-CassiaCrescent by dwinsplace, on Flickr

Yes, so when you click on the picture you had uploaded, right side of the screen, you should be able to locate the image url ya? If yes, just click on "Direct", come back to Renotalk, click Image icon below Emoticon, paste the url in there, voila.

Actually what matter most for a alkaline water filter machine can do is able produce high level of negative oxygen reduction potential (-ORP). Those machine which can not give you this information confirm is a scam. Negative Oxygen Reduction Potential is a very powerful anti-oxidant which can hunt down free radicals in our system and neutralized them thus slow down the aging process. So, choose wisely...

As I am a fan of woody texture, my ID recommended me to Kompacplus for my kitchen cabinet top. Apparently it not only looks good, Kompacplus is heat proof, scratch proof and even stain proof. Sounds too good to be true right? To verify its claims, I asked for an A4 size sample to conduct my own test! Test 1: Scratch test using kitchen scissors Result: Light scratches can be easily wiped off but I managed to permanently scarred the sample after giving it a super deep scratch. Definitely more scratch resistant compared to the solid surface at my current place. 2. Chopper Test Result: To be fair, most of us will not chop on our precious kitchen surface right? But Kompacplus survived the butchering session with minor permanent scars. 3. Leaving a boiling pot of water on top for 5 minutes Results: No visible damage 4. Direct Flame Result: To be fair, this is a wind proof lighter (stronger flame) and I did not move the flame at all. The surface started to crack after 8 seconds. If I move the flame around, Kompacplus survived even after 20 seconds. 5. Stain test with turmeric paste and soya sauce, leaving it on for 26 hours Results: For those who cook curry, you will know that turmeric is super hard to wash off. After wiping with a wet cloth, the turmeric caused a yellow stain on the surface. However everything came off after I scrub the stain with JIF. In conclusion, given its aesthetic woody design and high resistance properties, I should be using Kompacplus for my new place (; Anyone using iquartz, may I know what are your reviews?

The significance of putting a Buddha statue may be due to many reasons: Buddha statues placed as a artistic object or oranament is always Ok since there are no taboos in Buddhism and Buddhism does not believe that the "spirit" of the Buddha resides in the Buddha statue. From a religious viewpoint, the Buddha statue is normally marked with the 32 characters and 80 excellent qualities of an enlightened being. Therefore, the Buddha statue means as an object for Buddhists to meditate upon on and also to remind the family of the goodness of the Buddha, the consistent need to live in accord with the Buddha's advice, the need to understand the Dharma and to rejoice in it. Making daily efforts of offerings depending on indiviual is also a mean to make practise of generosity, devotion, grace and loving kindness. Such as incense represent the fragrance and truth of the Buddha's teachings, while light dispels darkness of ignorance. ENCI
