http://www.iras.gov....e04.aspx?id=824 GST registered business must show GST-inclusive prices on all price displays (e.g. price tags, price lists, advertisements, publicity brochures, website). Prices that are quoted, whether written or verbal, must also be GST-inclusive. Failure to do so is an offence and offenders may be fined for up to $5000. It is important for the public to know upfront the final price of goods and services that they have to pay. The following illustration shows the acceptable and non-acceptable price display format: Price Display Format Acceptable? $107 Yes $107 (inclusive of GST) Yes $100 + No $100 + GST No $100 + 7% GST No $100 + $7 GST No $100 ($107 w/GST) No If two prices (i.e. both GST-inclusive and GST-exclusive price) are displayed, the GST-inclusive price must be prominently displayed. Quoting the following clauses but not the GST-inclusive prices is not acceptable: "Prices stated are subject to GST""Prices stated are exclusive of GST""Prices stated are before GST" Where a GST-registered business intends to give a discount equal to the GST amount to the consumer, it is incorrect to advertise that there is 'no GST' for the goods or services. Such advertising is misleading as there is a GST element in all the goods and services supplied by a GST-registered business. Exception An exception is made for businesses in the hotel and food & beverage (F & B) industries only. Due to the imposition of service charge, these businesses may have operational difficulties in displaying GST-inclusive prices. Therefore, they may display GST-exclusive prices for goods and services that are subject to service charge. However, a statement informing customers that prices displayed are subject to GST and service charge must be prominently shown.

Trying to find something with this appearance (but preferably with dark grey or black hue, not greenish): The measurements are for two surface areas: 1) 2300 x 900 2) 790 x 660 The 660mm edge will be joined with the 900mm edge (the joint is around 300mm). I do not need it to be seamless if the cost is a lot more. Please send me a PM. Thanks!

I have encountered a very lousy ID who not only don't do his job well but cannot plan. Please do not engage this ID Tony Liew. My kitchen wall near the window has no tiles and the whole reno sucks. Please be careful not to engage him. He started his own company located in Jurong East.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!! THEY ARE RUDE AND UNTRUSTWORTHY.AND ALWAYS LATE FOR DELIVERY. THEIR GOODS QUALITY ARE SUB-STANDARED & NOT WHAT THEY PROMISED TO DELIVER. I bought a 2m sofa and customised a dining table and 4 chairs from them. They actually took 7 trips just to deliver these 6 items. Wasted my time and energy and every time I talked to their sales person Jenny Lee (90888221) and Manager Theresa (93833047) my blood boils. Moving house is supposed to be a joyous event but to me is a real night mare because of them. First, on the delivery date, dining table and chairs not delivered. 2.2m sofa delivered instead of 2m sofa. Still need to wait for them to get permission from their manager to remove the wrong sofa from my house. Already 2 trips. Then told me the dining set on the cargo ship already need approximate 10 days before they reached singapore. But I had already told them the delivery date, they wanted me to wait another 10 days. Then told me they made a mistake in the sofa need to redo a new one want me to wait for 1 more month. So fed up with them. I am supposed to move on the following week after the delivery date. I told the Jenny because of their mistakes I am going to move into an empty house. No table to eat and chairs to sit. After that, they said they will temporary bring a dining set and sofa while waiting for their delivery. 3rd trip, the temp sofa and dining set came. 4th trip, only the marble table came. Table legs are ok but the marble top is chipped. Sent back the marble top leaving the table legs in my living room with the temp dining set. Plus they delivered on 4 Aug, sat, not 10 days after the delivery date but 3 weeks after. 5th trip, 4 chairs came with the marble top. Luckily ok. 6th trip, 11 Aug, sat told us deliver at 5-7pm but din come. No calls informing they will be late. So pissed off. Called Theresa and she said coming . We were too angry and hungry to wait and went out for dinner. It is ridiculous!!!! We are the consumers, we pay and get this type of service!!!! 7th trip, 13 Aug, delivered the sofa today. It is 2m but the quality is not there. We were told it is made of calf leather at the showroom by Jenny. But based on the texture and smell of the leather sofa delivered I can 100% guarantee it is synthetic leather. Strong latex smell!! They are selling at premium price but delivering fake sub standard products!! Consumers please beware don't fall prey to them. Make sure the specifications are correct and exact. We feel really cheated by them!! On the invoice, Jenny just stated 3 seater, full leather, colour ivory. We have a weak case as they deliberately wrote in this manner. As a layman we will not know the difference until I did some research online. Should state 2m, full genuine cow hide leather. Broadly stated leather it can be PU leather , techno leather , bonded leather etc. I wanted the management email from Theresa but she told me she will give it to me for a few times but didn't.Just trying to bid her time and fool me time and again. Anyone know who and what is their management email address? They mis-represented. Tthe new sofa has a small skin peeled off when delivered. Haizz... Wonder the new lemon law will help us the layman.....

Hi Guys, I have been sourcing LED lights from Balestier and Jalan Besar, the lowest i get for a 7W LED light is $40 each, and i need 20 of them for my living and bedrooms which add up to be very $800 in total. But all those lights they are selling are china made, no brand. I came across a local website that sells LED lights from an established China brand called Opple. The price is only $25 each and one for one exchange within 3 months. Just wonder is it worth the try? Will you guys consider buying LED from website?

Here's my living room and kitchen 3Ds. My wife and I couldn't agree on the choice of the ceiling fan. The design she chose was really bling with lots of chrome areas. Ronald kindly agreed to put in my choice of ceiling fan into the 3D so that my wife "gum wan" that I made the right choice. All tiling, plumbing and woodwork like partitions and false ceiling have been completed. Electrical work is undergoing rectification for shoddy workmanship. As this is my own sourced contractor, I had to take leave to rectify the situation myself. Yesterday the aircon trunking was up. The workmanship is again terrible, the placement was neither here nor there, not high near the ceiling but just right in the middle of nowhere and slanting like a Tamiya car race track. I guess nowadays there are no tradesmen in Singapore anymore. Just mostly inexperienced workers who takes no pride in their work. Again, this is my own source and I will have to go screw the boss myself.

UPDATES: Sorry for the long hiatus guys.... i guess i'm not keeping up with the tblog as frequently as i had wanted. We took many pictures but it's quite a chore to download them from phone to hosting site so i will probably share pics of the completed house in future. Really not much time to do these things here I'm afraid. Anyway, for people who are (still) keen to know about our progress.... We're at 80% completion of our reno. This means only minor carpentry touch-ups, another coat of paint for touching up, glass backsplash for kitchen and customised mirror for dining area and master bedroom dresser are pending. After these are done, we should be looking at the handover soon! How time flies... So far we've been really pleased with the carpentry works too... it's really nice to see a few of our ideas come nicely into fruition. There's been some minor works to be improved here and there but our carpenter and reno supervisor are usually very quick to oblige. This gives me some comfort, at least their standard of quality is aligned with mine so far!

Hi friends, I am new to this forum. Im buying a new resale flat. Planning to renovate with granite flooring in living. My current flat got granite flooring - I am quite addicted to it. I see there is not much information on granite flooring except that it is too expensive and difficult to maintain. But I used granite in my current flat for over 12 years - no problem at all. Any idea how much it will cost? Any reliable ID / contractor who can do the job well.

Hi, I wish to remove the partition wall along with the top hung sliding door as shown below that separate my dining area from my living room. The false wall is laid on top of the homogenous floor tile. http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a543/leowtzelon/Dining-Living_zps020534f3.jpg For quotation, please. Thanks.

What is the longest renovation period that would normally place for a new 2-room BTO flat?

Hi, Can any kind soul shed some light on how much would the following requirements cost (inclusive of installation, GST, & everything else)? 1) Classic bedroom door for 1 bedroom and 1 master bedroom. 2) Sealing of air vents on wall above bedroom doors (old HDB type). 3) Sliding aluminium windows for both living room and bedroom, facing corridor. 4) Casement aluminium windows for master bedroom. 5) Wallpaper removal services, for 2x ceiling and 1x side of wall. 6) Painting services for whole house as well as single room. I have done some research but yet to find a suitable and low cost solution to repair and renovate my parent's old 3-room flat. Would really appreciate if anyone has a good quote or construction guys willing to take up the job. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hear any constructive comments!

Corridor Reno Nothing much we can do for the corridor so i just got those hanging cage lights. Where? TB of course. Bought some edison bulbs as well and will be using those for the house warming. As we didn't get the doors from HDB, we have to get our own doors. Shockingly, there is only that much designs to choose from and definitely none of them looks industrial. So customise again lor. At first wanted to make it like a door in a ship. The door with a round window in the middle with steel grills leh. Too bad not enough Vitamin M especially when there are 3 doors to do. So we thought of making it looked vintage (just paint and sand it down) for a change. Think i have too much industrial design in the living room so nice to keep it simple here. Still some element of industrial design. Check out the hinges. Probably will paint the handle black also.

Totally agree. Try to imagine and you're the lucky one who strike the TOTO. Should just list out the company name of the ID/Contractor here.

Yup need PE chop! Wow.. 2 days only! thats great.. I think mine is the usual 1-2wks for living room + bedroom hacking. Btw, why do you hack the service yard? I do think it makes the kitchen bigger, but I have concerns about the smell on clothings..

I just want to add my complete disregard for the way people at PD door understand to liaise with clients and the substandard brazen mentality of the 'director' Valerie Lim. I would encourage every customer out there to thoroughly avoid this service provider as they totally lack elementary customer service skills. I'll be more than happy to share my latest experience with whoever is interested.

Blogging from my mobile while on a gym cycling machine now... Haha don't judge. I need to keep moving my left knee on low resistance motion to regain my range of motion since my ACL reconstruction surgery 2 months ago... So might as well save time and blog as well.. Anyway here goes.... Quotation - what can I say... I cannot be any less direct when I say that #CalvinTan is the CHEAPEST of all the IDs that I compared with.. (see above post for comparison with other IDs that I met) I honestly think that I am doing quite a lot of works.. And my quotation came up to 35.5k only.. And it would've only amounted to 29k if not for my solid wooden bench and the ceiling feature that I'm planning to do to spice up my Scandinavian theme! (provided my fiance approves.. Heh Heh... Anyway "fiance" shall be referred herein and after as "CFO" - Chief Finance Officer) Another ID quoted so much for quartz kitchen counter top.. For #CalvinTan, it was just a small fraction more expensive than solid surface top.. So obviously we are going for quartz! Happy happy.. I hope #CalvinTan doesn't take this as a cue to increase his price, but honestly, my experience with other IDs is that my fiance and I were trying so hard to remove items from our quotation to fit into our reno budget... AND NOW, #CalvinTan quotation is so unexpectedly cheap that we are planning to add even more aesthetic items into our quotation!! (such as: - quartz top for master bathroom sink - overlay master toilet Wall tiles - ceiling feature white beams - solid wood bench with woody grains.. Yum yum.. - white wall tiles with grey grouting overlay for exposed kitchen walls - full kitchen carpentry! - Complete false ceiling coverage for living and dining area - wooden trimmings for my hdb window frames to cover the ugly aluminium white.. - Even a nice glass door for my kitchen with modified handle to wooden type to spice up Scandinavian theme...) And yes, my quotation is alrdy inclusive of a sample size of electrical points (totalling about 1.3k).. Which usually other IDs don't even include into their quotation. So actually, my quotation (when comparing with other IDs) is only 27.7k!! Also, no GST! Can you believe it! NO FREAKINGGGGGG GST! Hahahahahahaahahaha I really feel like my friend and I unearthed a gem.. I would be happy to share his contact and my quotation.. Just reply here and I will get to you as soon as I can.. Good things must share. Hahaha.. More posts coming up about his designs, personality & my other concerns!! Cheers people

It would be more credible if you back it up with photos taken rather than just words for the benefits of the readers here.
