  1. My ID is Sunny and I'm overall very very pleased with the design of my living room. It's been 4 months since handover and he's still very responsive to my call. Just last week he sent the contractor down to drill a clothes hanger behind a bedroom door very promptly.

Sunny is quite "ah beng" in look and may put one off on first impression but he's actually very experience. For those who says their workmanship is no good, well I guess it all depends on which contractor did the job. Mine is Mr Foo and I am overall very pleased with his workmanship.

  2. Hoping to get some help here, and probably a better chance to get the item faster and cheaper through RT resources.

Where can I get this item and where would be the cheaper place:

    Many thanks!

I've seen this at Ikea, cannot remember the price though.

  3. yesterday, we went to mega to add a dryer to the purchase list. After talking to our neighbour, who took 3 days to dry each washing :bangwall: , we have decided that a dryer is no longer "just in case", but a must! I will go mad if I have to leave my clothes hanging for 3 days!

As per before, was highly recommended Brandt. Was quite tired of doing price checks, so we just ask salesman to recommend. Our requirements are - manual / vented / at least 7kg. so in the end, siince only Brandt fits that, just take lah.

speaking about sun, think i can start receeing for curtain liao. Anyone got recommendations? There is a Mr Chew and someone else ... sian, must go dig the forum again. Find that I am losing a bit of steam with this reno - going to punchat soon . can't wait for HO

don't buy too fast... I also wanted to buy a dryer when we first move in cos our clothes took 2 days to dry but decided to observe for another few more days. These days our clothes dry up by the next day... so dryer is on hold

  4. ya only yesterday cannot log online... : (

hmm i use magic clean for glass and use newpaper or cloth to wipe but can see marks still... i see very fan... haha... if got kids wld have fingerprints next time.

you can use microfiber cloth to wipe glass / mirror :thumbs up: i bought mine during sale at Robinson.

  5. I think your ID is being silly, since they are doing up the cabinets for you anyway, it should be mounted at the height comfortable for you or your family.

If he uses the standard way of measurement, what is the use of getting them to do up kitchen cabinets?

He re-did the rack and it's so much nicer now at my desired height :)

  6. Wanted to check this very quickly before it slipped my mind again.

Today when we were at FV, a man approached us to change the joints of the metal gate. He said the type HDB gave is easily broken into, and showed us how easily he can pull the bottom part. In place, his is like a nut and bolt, and he will solder the open end so as to seal it.

He claimed that almost all at FV did this. When we asked that he give us some time to think about it and to give us his contact number, he claimed that he does not frequent that area, so it's either do now or don't do. Then he walked away! So dao attitude - can't even let people think?

But that beside the point, is it really true that the HDB one is that bad? What did all of you do to secure the gate?

If the bottom part can be pulled down, report as defect and it will be rectified FOC. That's what we did.

  7. Hi Philzero

Thanks for your fast input. I came back and measure the height of dish rack in my current flat and it's 54" from floor! My ID finally agreed to rectify without cost to me on condition that it's minimal work involve.

  8. Can any expert please advise if there is such a thing as "standard height" for dish rack?

I had a shock when I saw the height of my dish rack. It's way too high for me and I have to tiptoe in order to reach the plates. My ID said that he follows the standard height which is 2ft above solid surface and if I want the dish rack to be lower than the standard, I should have indicated to him earlier. Now he wants to charge me $300 if I want the dish rack to be redone.

  9. i think it depends where u planning to put your air con. i put mine on top of my tv console so trunking all inside the rooms. Rooms air con all on top of the doors, master bedroom on tol of air con window for minimal trunkin

Aircon on top of TV console may not be a very good idea as we have experienced condensation leaking from aircon before. Luckily for us there wasn't anything below, so nothing was spoilt. JMHT.

  10. I encounter the same problem also so I asked him on the spot. He then gave me another option but told me that the 1st proposed location is the best. I didn't ask him why.

Same here. I ask him if I can place the divider closer to the door, he say cannot. Must place according to his calculation. So end up my foyer is very big :(

  11. 350i is super cheap!, aiyo shld have ask for recommendations. my id quote me 1000 topaint so we decided to do it ourselves. also my parents want to help : ( in the end more probs

$1000 is cheap as compared to $1200 and $1500 quoted by a contractor and ID respectively.

  12. i got the optic white hob for around 400+. cant remember the exact price already.

after getting it from the store, my friends told me i should have waited for their warehouse sales instead. can get good deals from it. T_T

maybe if you are keen, can wait for their warehouse sales and check them out again.

Hi Prisspris, can click a pic of your optic white hob please? I'm also thinking of changing from black to optic white to match my solid surface top. TIA.

  13. The windchimes really look much nicer. Maybe I should do the same for mine :D

Actually all I did is remove the silver fish at the top and replace it with a key ring for hanging. The silver fish is too colourful for our liking. The two balls are originally there. I bought it at cardsnsuch at Centrepoint. Unbelieveable dirt cheap price!

Another shop one level above sells windchimes with solid rods too, but they don't have it in 4 rods. Was told new stocks arriving in August.

Ngunadi: Do let me know if you manage to find crystal balls at Chinatown. I want to replace both with real crystal balls too.

  14. Mine has dolphins attached to it. I hope it can be used for fengshui. A windchime is a windchime right?

At most, I remove the dolphin?

Otherwise, where to find a "real" windchime with solid rods?

I found mine too... Mr Chang says can use the modern ones as well, as long as it's solid silver rods. Anyway, I'm removing the decorative fish at the top of the wind chimes. Will click a pic of mine tonight.

  15. hihi,I m using panasonic 3 + 1 system.trunking done.my aircon is on top of my tv console so trunkin is thr the rooms tt s why can't see trunking. Where s yr aircon located??

ok, now i understand. mine is done right at the entrance of the passage way, so the water pipe has to be on the left where the bomb shelter is.

  16. Hi Fifteenmay, are you using system 4 aircon? I don't see any pvc truncking in your passageway. Juz wondering how it's hiden... my living room aircon unit has a truncking right below the bomb shelter air circulation hole, very ugly :(

  17. Almost wanted to go there jalan jalan, hollow ones make louder sound!. May be can be replaced by solid stainless steel rods of different length. May I know how "long" are those hollow pipes? Got 1-3 feets long?

I'm interest also to know where you hang the windchime. Fsm got specifically mentioned just ONE or a few to hang at some corners?

the longest length i think is about 10". those are more for tourists, with dolphins, merlions or birds attached to it. don't think can use these for fengshui reasons.

I just need to hang one in one of the bedrooms, besides wardrobe. Problem now is where to find it!!!
