  1. Hi Rummi, u already tile 75%, u might as well tile all the way :good:

hi nipponho, actually it was an intentional design to NOT tile the whole toilet :)

onli the shower area will get wet - so tile the shower area.

the rest of the toilet (=remaining 2/3 of the area) can look like a powder room with nice paint/mirror/decorations instead of looking like a WC mah

maintenance will be easier too - just bring a 3m/magiclean mop up the wall will do. instead of having to scrub down tiles joints. hehe

  2. hi

am thinking of asking my id to built a tall wall storage in the kitchen to store a microwave and toaster. Can i place the countertop mulitfunctional oven there? or would it spoil the capentry?

    thks

i built a 60cm x 60cm x 50cm high space into my cabinet, with ventilation space on the sides.... had seen frens doing withOUT the ventilation spaces, and the cabinet remains healthy;)

    checked in shops... ...

PANASONIC multifunctional countertop oven that we'll be using : Model NN-CS-596AYPQ, is $899.

hmm, new price seems lower! yeahyeah

    $799 at Best denki

    $710 at Goh Ah Bee

  3. our family-of-2 ,on the other hand, substituted our wok with sautee-pan, 28cm diameter (u koe, the tefal flat bottom high sides kind).

however, since its teflon-coated (thus NO HIGH HEAT), deep-frying will be done in our stainless steel pot.

  4. hmmm ok thanks for the advice! i'll check with my partner - eh u and me choice of shops v.similar :yamseng:

hehe, oh yeah, whichs r same??

you will hardly use 3 hobs together at the same time. tt why we chose 2 hob.

ohh, tis veri true. putting 2 medium size pots together will not be possible for my orientation (mine is 793). but mayb possibel for 773 orientation).

  5. wa everyone is buying the 772...im like the only 773 buyer :/

may i ask why you all choose 772 over 773? the 3rd burner (middle small one) no use ah

7*3 is big, medium & small flame.

but 7*2 is two sets of big flames.

some cooking requires veri low heat, so then 7*2 too hot liao.

so if u r NOT going to cook on veri regular basis, and covering extensive cooking style, 7*2 is the right choice.

on the other hand, if u barely is going to cook, getting 7*3 is like keeping a white elephant.

    hehe

  6. think tat depend on where u stay too! UU is along geylang there so not very far to go your SK. if u stay boon lay, dont think they will do it twice as i knw these hardware shop earn abt max $30 for each hood only. they get rebate from suppliers.

hi nikedot, tis the first time tat i heard anyone use the term 'not very far' for SK.

    :bangwall:

oh, n thks for e info on hardwareshop-profit margin.

  8. wonder if its because my order was placed through universal union, instead of to Fujioh direct... but i do not experience problem with their delivery. even when request for change in color, delivery with 2days notice, and seperate delivery for hood and hob on different dates, they have no problem meeting my 'demands' le :yamseng:

    wish u better lucks!

  9. Oh by the way, I will be placing order on Monday, so let me know soon ya? :(

hi AIR, thanks veri much for 'waiting'. id been running errands the whole weekend & still didint get to go shopping. sigh...

tink will give birkenstock a miss tis time.

    enjoy your new shoes neh!

  10. Once a bimbo friend of mine saw my guqin and commented "I love your mini-guzheng, where did you get them?" I was like :dancingqueen::bangwall: !! Obviously she knows nuts about chinese instrument :P

!! fine, at least she recognises a guzheng... ;):P

thks for e clue on chinatown point shop. will work it out one day. afterall, tis is one of the 'Five things that I muz do in this life' :(

  11. !! actually there are one each on living and bedroom and one on the qin-zhuo. You guess leh...deco or play? Well finally got one wen-ren who knows what is a guqin. You play ? or other chinese instrument?

    wooowww !!

i was thrilled when i saw them on ur fotos. hehe. nvr met anyone who owns/plays a GuQin, u r the first! me played (been long time) guzheng... but guqin appeals to me more. lookg forward veri much to switching to guqin, juz tat i'd yet to figure out who in spore teaches tis unique musical instrument:p

  12. A completely "open" window does indeed provide more potential for ventilation than a louvre window, for example. But don't forget that ventilation also depends on the movement of air. On a hot humid day with no breeze, a big open window also no use.

But I must admit that having a completely "open" window is quite daring. How do you overcome the privacy issue and the possible shyness of guests who have to use the toilet, given that the opening faces your service yard?

ahaha... unless we have basketball player guests walking in frequently, the rest of us will have to jump veri hard to catch any action in there!

anyway, we're growing plants at the void;)

  13. Anyone know where can I buy those 60s or 70s small little mosaic tiles, litttle heart shape one is the best. 8|

this old-fashion shop call 'Unlimited Enterprise' is on the ground floor of the circular HDB block at bendemeer... ... many conservation projects go to them for old mosaics & tiles. goodluck :notti:

  14. I recently bought the Panasonic oven NN-C2003SYPQ, when the compass point courts was closing ....got a very good deal.....but was very worried about the oven since it was a display set.

I haven't tried steaming yet but all other things work pretty good.

    Grilling(meat/fish) is really great.

    Baking - tried pasta/cookies/cakes/bread - everything perfecto !

I doubt if there's anything that the oven can't do :furious:

dun tell me u got it at 50% :notti:???? wooow :sport-smiley-018:

we bought several sets of washers tat r display sets, seems ok, no worries;)

btw, r u sure NN-C2003SYPQ has steaming function too?? i read their online specifications and it wasnt stated so le

    IC. Sorry, abit slow. :furious:

no la. we miss a beat (of each other) onli la :deal:

  15. Checked in? Meaning?

I am no expert as well, but having used a very normal looking microwave oven wif convection in the fully furnished apartment I was staying in while studying, I guess I am not the fussy kind.

Yah, was wondering if can source for some info before I start looking. At least know which model to zoom in. Will let u know if I happen to see the few models discussed here.

    i meant sengkang's very own community-forum : sengkang dot com :)

waiting for your feedback then... u made me anxious. hehe
