    Kitchens Sink part to be done in cement ( sink support with tiles finish ) very strong, seems to be good, but come to a day where you need to change the sink would be a headache. The door frame ( if you are not using aluminum sliding or casenment ) will also face the same problem if you dun maintance it well.

    Kitchen sink part to be done wood in laminated finish, yes, will spoil easily if you dun maintance it well. Or there's a leakage of water from the tap, inlet ect... But changing of sink would be easy ( provided top mount sink )

    Dear All,

    Finally confirmed on my ID and after some 'issues' with the HDB permit, hacking has started.

    However, I feel very insecure.

    After asking for a work schedule from my ID, he gave me something really simplified.

    No details of datelines for purchase of bathroom accessories, kitchen accessories, lightings.

    Is it normal?

    And even after telling him that I wanna move in by Christmas, he can still tell me subject to change.

    So what is my right as the customer?

    Is there any law to protect my interest in terms of 'handover date'?

    How much leeway should I give?

    Now how's the renovation on going?? is there any pending hacking works? if not by xmas should be ok. But regarding handover date, there's no law to protect. and its end year, might face some problem with carpentry work because a lot of owners rushing to shift in before xmas or CNY...

    Try laminated flooring

    CLASSEN® Laminate Floor

    Nice Matt finish.

    But have to take care because it's not water proof.

    More hardy comparing with vinyl tile (So call HERF )

    Or vinyl flooring (. HERF )

    FORMICA® Vinyl Flooring

    Confirm water proof

    But less scratch resist

    Take shape of existing flooring.

    Wood culture laminated flooring not bad, ( berry series )

    Used on one of my customer platform.

    Hi,

    First u have to know if they have over lay before or not. If this the 3rd time, u can't over lay.

    Screening the whole house at first will give u a bit "powder" feel. U need to polish ( normal one ) / buff. But still will crake over 2 to 3 years. And you might wanna to some chipping over the old tiles just in case The screening can't hold onto the old tiles even u apply W1 and chemical cement over it.

    Hi folks, i'll be getting my key for my new home within a month. This is our 1st time as we has no exp and with limited budget.

    I surf thru renotalk a lot recently to do my homework, so I can get some idea here n there.

    Below is some info & work needed to do for my house. Highlight me if I miss out something.

    4rm Standard BTO at Yishun foral spring 92sqf

    Works~

    - Construct Shower kerbs for 02 bathrooms

    - Construct Washing machine base

    - Construct 4ft False wall in living room

    - Install 10mm tempered glass shower screen in MBR

    - Homogenous/ceramic tiles for living/dining room & 03 bedrooms

    - Ceiling ~ Simple L-box for all room with led light (not sure yet, I want ceiling fans for all rm and box to cover wiring and pipes)

    - Window Grilling

    - Wooden doors for 03 bedrooms

    - Bi-fold doors for 02 toilet

    - Carpentry - 13ft kitchen cabinet with soild surface (bottom only)

    6ft wardrobe at MBR

    - Plumbing - necessary job and install accessories (Owner provide accessories)

    - Painting for whole house (Owner provide paint)

    - Electical - new heater/light/socket point

    - Lighting and Ceiling Fans installation (Owner provide all Lighting and fans)

    # Feature wall and wall mount TV console if budget allow.

    How much does those job cost roughly?

    Good ones from Ikea, Supermarkets are not cheap.. for bulbs alone, a 5 Watts would cost at least $16/=. Fitting with bulb cost even more.. but if one not too fusy about quality, can source from ebay or Q0010 online, they may cost less than $10/= from China. LED without proper lens and reflectors are not as efficient as fluorescent lamp, around 60 lumens/watt vs 110 lumens/watt but they have narrow beam angles making them suitable for task and not general lightings..

    I got quite a number of spot light to buy say like about 12pcs. comparing with $10 with $27, i think i go for the $10 first. have any ideal where or which webbie that sell??

    Am just about to start looking seriously for a contractor. I'm not looking for any IDs because I can't afford it but it's a small place and I know exactly what I want.

    Though, can anyone tell me when in the process should I ask for the permits from HDB ?

    and permit comes into the picture when hacking works need to be done.

    Permit usually come with a company. like so and so construction pte ltd. for example you can look for people like tiler seng or nick if you not looking for any id..
