  1. Kerala tour can be fun and thrilling too due to the variety that is offered by Kerala tourism. One can very well imagine the fun that can be derived by not only enjoying the scenic beauty and the wildlife but also experiencing them very closely. One of the new experiences provided by Kerala to its tourists is the opportunity to stay in a tree house. Tree house is generally mounted on a tree top anywhere between 20 to 90 feet above the ground. One can get a panoramic view from the tree houses. The tree houses are generally maintained and built by local tribal people. It is made up of pure eco-friendly materials such as coir mates, bamboo poles, hay straws, live trees and others. The houses are known as ‘Erumadam’ by the tribal people and were used by them to escape the attacks of wild animals. Now they have been modified and are being used to attract tourists and provide them with a quiet and peaceful time enjoying the nature. The tree house holidays are also provided with a number of walking trails so as to enable the tourists to explore the surroundings. The tree houses are generally placed on rain forests surrounded by coffee, tea, cardamom and pepper plantations. They are also well furnished and provided with basic amenities like bedroom with attached bathroom, telephone shower, wash basin, balcony with carpet cover and sit out. Getting up and down the tree houses is facilitated using indigenous cane lift that works with a combination of pulleys and counterweights of water.
