MBR Washroom Light
This is the one and only light that is crystal light in the whole house.
And not surprisingly, it belong to the Missus.
I was telling her, wait till the day you need to clean it.
Sounds very much like my chandelier.... Hubby already say he will leave it up to me for cleaning 😅

I've finally finished updating my personal blog with the items bought from Taobao and all the links of the items + our auspicious move in ceremony!
The post on our auspicious move in ceremony should officially end off my renovation blog here. It has definitely been an enjoyable 10 mths of sharing here in RT (so much so that I started my own blog)! Can't believe I have been in this forum this long (started the blog in Feb till today). Shifted in for one month so far and still loving my dream home to the max
My sis is going to take a professional photoshoot of my place and I will share the pictures again when they are ready!
Till then, hope everyone continue to enjoy your own renovation journey and wishing u guys smooth reno all e way!

Same issue faced.. Can only continue mopping to get rid of it. Hubby and I must have done that at least 5 to 6 times. It's much better after we have shifted in..

welcome to RT!
theme of hse really depends on lifestyle
if minimalist, hse really cannot have many items. scandi is really nice too but may be high maintanence due to open shelvings..
there's also country / Victorian / industrial etc to choose from

Hi guojiawen,
We bought a Whirlpool air purifier from Courts a few weeks ago, the model is AP628W. We got that due to the CASE test report which reflected this model as the highest performing one... and the price looks ok for our budget too. Perhaps you can consider, just sharing .
And in other news, we are also moving this Sunday! Movers and all coming over to our current place to shift all our boxes and other items over.... haha so coincidental!
Hello mrslee,
Congrats on the completion of your new home and all the best for your shifting in! After a long wait, the shift in day is finally coming...
Hi,
can pm me the renovation quotation details?
TIA.
Hi Brian,
My ID contacts are in my signature / shared in post #730. Sorry I won't be sharing the detailed quotation breakdown anymore. It will be more accurate to get a quote based on your own renovation requirements.
Cheers!
Yes the down side is no warranty if get from overseas. I'm still doing a lot of touch up for my house. Bought a new steam mop but haven try it. Have u tried any of the robot vacuum from taobao?
Yup I'm currently using the Ecovacs CR120 that I got from taobao. So far so good. Will do a review of all my TB stuff once I have settled down in the new home
Wow! My Toshiba Air Purifier costs around $200 when I bought it last year. I guess as long as it has the Hepa Filter, its generally good enough.
Are you putting it in your bedroom?
Yup will be putting in the MBR when sleeping and carry it out to the living room over the weekends
Seems like quite a number of people are getting air purifiers, likely due to the horrible haze last year that got all of us scared?
-
U can get from amazon then use a transformer , think it's cheaper
Thanks aspialle, I was considering that but in the end decided to get it local for the warranty..
My friend's husband is a nurse n his hospital is using this as well. So when she said it's a good price, I took the plunge

Jiawen, the best way is still to use floor detergent a cloth to wipe using hands, if use mop sometimes may not be that effective and may scratch the floor (tip plastic part of the mop).
Thanks aspialle, we will go the ultra traditional way this coming weekend with wet floor cloth and run through the entire house. Officially shifting in on Sunday, so die die Saturday must do a total clean up!
We didn't buy the normal mop, so won't have the issue of the plastic part of it..
Hi Jiawen, you are experience the same thing as me too and i believe it applies to all my first few days of cleaning is no matter how many times you vacuum or mop, it will always be dusty. Vacuum and mopping will settled all, you don need to go through that complicated process ^^
EDIT: Don't sweep, you just make the dust go somewhere else in your house
Haha Le0nHart, I guess we are overzealous about the cleaning so over complicated the simple things! My friend says I have OCD when I told them what I did.
The sweeping was more for bigger particles like loose styrofoam, cupboard pieces, magnets and more. Was afraid of spoiling our vacuum hehe.

More Updates
And so... as the auspicious day to move in nears, we have further updates on our end!
Bought the remaining electrical appliances / household items from Kallang Mega Discount Store based on the salesperson recommendations.
- Tefal iron
- Ironing board
- Rowenta garment steamer
- Hitachi 1 litre rice cooker + steamer
- Tefal kettle
Have also bought the following items for household cleaning / dishwashing / hand soap etc.
- Dr Bronner's Castile Soap (Baby mild)
- Dr Wood's Castile Soap (Tea tree)
- Spray Bottles
- Ecoballs + Dryer Balls
- JML Shark Steam Mop
- Magic Clean Duster
- Magic Clean Wet + Dry Wipes
- New Broom and Dustpan
Armed with a whole load of cleaning agents (trying to keep to organic and more eco-friendly alternatives where possible), hubby and I have been cleaning and cleaning whenever we have the time. But the house is still sooooooo dusty! Heard that it is cement dust and it won't go away so fast. Hubby also mentioned that with the renovation of neighbours + the new BTO nearby, it is next to impossible to keep the place squeaky clean. Sigh~
What we have tried (in the order typed):
1. Sweep
2. Vacuum
3. Robot vacuum
4. Magi clean wet wipes
5. Shark steam mop
6. Repeat
For the first 3 steps we must have repeated at least 3 times. But even then, when we use the wet wipes and steam mop, both left streaks on the floor, which I strongly suspect are left there due to the small dust particles that are still not cleaned despite 3 times of steps 1 to 3!
Any tips to clean up the cement dust / dust particles will be really really appreciated!
