@Yeoh Wu Lieh contractor is Mr K from h2o Interior 9022 2321. Would prefer not to share my detailed quote sorry about that! Total quotation came up to $45k including $3k of electrical works.
@AndreaLee thank you for the compliment! Unfortunately, the photos on page 5 are what I have best. Have moved in for 1 week plus now so it's quite messy everywhere currently

11 hours ago, flowersinherhair said:@infatuation054 Very lovely house! May I know which Bosch model of induction hob are you asking? I wanted to get a 3 zone hob but was told that Bosch is not suitable due to the power limitation.
Thank you in the end we bought a 2 zone Bosch induction hob because... you are right, a HDB flat won't be able to support the power for a 3 zone Bosch hob.

@infinity2015 will take photos of internal space in cabinets later this week! Inner laminate is actually a woody colour, not black Total reno costs including electrical works is $45k.
@purplegirafffe looking forward to see your completed home!

Hi there! Not sure about the price of iQuartz as my contractor lumps the sum together with my cabinets. I’m using can a Bosch induction hob. I think any brand will suit a BTO. It depends on your own preference. But without the limited space I think a 2-burner would suffice if you don’t do heavy cooking.

Final Review of h2o Interior - 4.5 out of 5
Our reno journey has finally come to an end. We are going to officially move in next Sat, and till now we have not handed in the last 5% of reno fees, neither has Mr K brought it up. There are still a bit of work here and there to touch up, e.g. I just realised that my head board has a small dent. So Mr K said his men will come on Wed to do the touch up. Yesterday, we realised that the bidet spray was leaking, so Mr K also told his plumber to fix it on the same day.
I must say I did not regret getting Mr K to renovate our very first home. I have 2 friends who started renovating their homes (1 of them the same estate as I) and their IDs have either MIA-ed or needed constant reminders to do things. Both their handover dates got delayed while mine was brought forward by half a month.
Pros: Mr K attends to issues and messages almost immediately. Whenever I find something wrong, I would text him and he would reply almost immediately, and sometimes when it’s hard to explain, he would call me up immediately. After promising to fix things over the phone, his men also turns up punctually as promised. Workmanship for whole house is good (for now), will review a few months later.
Cons: At times, he tends to insist on his way. When I do suggest alternatives, he would say that it’s not possible because of 12648273 durability or practicality issues.
I would still recommend contractors like Mr K instead of IDs as the latter tends to go MIA once you sign the contract and they would be more interested in sourcing for new projects and not follow up so diligently on your reno.
For @purplegirafffe, here are close up pictures of my iQuartz countertop. Hope that helps!

@spikeling sure! I think can it’s a good time to wrap things up too.
@purplegirafffe i know right mine turned out to be a little on the off white side, so it doesn’t look as nice as the caesarstone one. I don’t have code but I’ll take a picture later when I drop by!

@KFC1189 unfortunately no space to put toothbrushes and cups so we are mounting a rack between mirror and wash basin.

Sorry, @Benny Lim. My total cost was $45k though.

@halimunan mirrors are from Taobao. Link is shared in my previous post on page 2. Sorry, I don't know how to copy that post to put it here..

Update 22 Sep:
Texted Mr K at 6.30am to tell him my discomfort regarding the glass door "ball" for bedroom 3 which makes the whole glass vibrate whenever someone closes it because the "ball" is quite hard so you got to like force-bang to close the door Although hubby has been telling me it's ok (everything is always ok for him), I couldn't stop thinking about it. I suggested a couple of ways (including those old school toilet latch) but Mr K said that wasn't doable. However, he was kind enough to say that he will think about it again to see how that can be changed to something else. Hubby and I were admiring our house and he asked for my top 3 favourite things from the reno, and I said it has got to be my wash basins, craftstone feature wall and my Blum kitchen drawers. Also quite glad that my blue wall turned out quite well, not too bright.
@Songz Thank you for your encouragement!
End product, only left with chemical washing on Saturday! Still not satisfied with the metal frame door, toying with the idea of changing it to a sliding door to minimize the violent vibrations of the glass when I close the door. But most likely won’t be changing anymore since hubby can’t wait to move in and it will likely mean that I have to dismantle everything to fit a sliding door. Shall let the pictures do the talking! Note: photos are unprofessionally taken by me

The table is by my contractor and is included in my quote together with the wooden wall. I think L-shape is very comfy but takes up quite a bit of space.

Saturday was bizarre. I was so upset with the workmanship of the metal frames that I told Mr K straight that I will not accept such work. I asked him whether he was free to come to the flat to discuss how things could be solved but he said that he wasn't free! I was really fuming mad, maybe because I paid a lot for this and expected something better.
After a few calls here and there, he called my husband and said that he will make a trip down. Well, the only good thing is perhaps he did not shirk responsibility, and he said that if I can't accept this workmanship (the best of all the his contacts), then he would tear everything down and go back to the cheaper aluminum alternative. I didn't want that because that would mean much thicker frames... and the whole idea right from the start was to have thin frames. After some discussion, he asked his men (who did the frames) and they came down really quite fast. He said they will try to touch up the ugly silicon which was glued anyhow and see if I could accept that. I cooled down for a while and complied, because I also don't think tearing it all down was a good option. Thankfully, I was able to accept the corrections:
1) Re-do black silicon evenly
2) Door "lock" would be changed to full stainless steel so the paint would not drop after opening and closing the door
3) Scratches on frames to be spray painted
A reno process can be really painful and frustrating sometimes. Mr K and I do get into some conflicts, but I must say that he is responsible throughout. The pictures below are just a few of the imperfections found... not very clear but the actual product was really not done well.

The glass to cover up bedroom 3 is up. Mr K sent us pictures last night. Actually if we'd known that things will be completed so fast, we would schedule the delivery of our bed and other appliances soon. Else at present it is on 21 Oct - still more than a month away! Trying to convince the very reluctant husband to move forward the delivery of appliances and bed... he is reluctant because he's afraid that the delivery people would get ths dates mixed up and we would end up not receiving anything at all.
This will be changed to full stainless steel simply because... I can't accept the scratched-and-paint-dropping-off look. Mr K said that it's inevitable because the door needs to be secure closed by this thing (neither a magnet or a lock), otherwise if strong wind blows, the door will swing. I told him that the paint drop off look makes it look worn out so I'd rather have a full stainless steel one. Initially, I'd wanted a black handle bar. Really regretted not looking closely at the 3D drawings as I thought the handles could be settled later when things are up. Learning point is to always communicate clearly the details to your contractor before allowing work to commence.

@JennyTan my sink is undermount because I think it has a sleeker design.
@Mannequin so sorry I won't be sharing my quotation as I feel that your needs and wants would be better quoted by Mr K himself. Hope you understand.

@fingerscross My electrical cables are concealed in the ceiling.
@Diluted I would say prices in Heritage are comparable to Hoe Kee. However, for Heritage, they provide discounts even if you purchase a single item. For Hoe Kee, my experience was that unless you purchase more than one item, no discount will be given.
-
@purplegirafffe your wall is very nice! It makes your toilet very very pretty! Praying that mine will look as nice as yours.
-
My vento fino is from Heritage at geylang. Not on display but can ask the salesperson to order for you. Priced at $858 because I chose the one which can swing left right and up down. Note that there is a cheaper model that only can go up down I think it's $688. Of course, the cheaper alternative is JB but hubby and I do not own a car and traveling there is very inconvenient for us.
-
Today we went to Choo Chiang Marketing (they have several outlets) at toa payoh industrial park to purchase our Le Grand switches. Bought a total of 13 matt black switches ($96) and a Hager doorbell ($11). Even Mr K himself says it's the cheapest place so I guess this deal can't be wrong. Hubby also went down to the house today and took some pictures. I love my PD door! But I thought my blue wall could be a darker kind of navy... oh well. Hopefully a few more coats of paint will help. Service yard and toilets lights (bought from taobao) installed too.

We are both getting more and more excited each day too!
Over the weekend, hubby and I finally went to Gain City Sungei Kadut to replace our impulsively-bought Bosch vacuum with something else, and we went home with these. The initial plan was to simply use the $249 credits that we had, but hubby and I were attracted to the Marshall Woburn speaker that we saw at the IT fair so we checked out gain city and they could beat the price! We almost bought it @ $750! Until hubby's friends (who went with us) suggested a Harman Kardon and hubby actually said the bass is stronger and it's only $399. So hubby went home a happier man. Ladies, this could be a birthday present for your hubby if his birthday is coming soon!
So after deducting the $249 credits from the Bosch vacuum and $13 from our gain city points, we paid a total of $383. Just a quick tip: if they offer you FREE 1 year warranty or anything like that, tell them that you don't need the warranty and the listed price may be further discounted.
Can't wait for another month to pass so that I can start my Isetan or Taka purchases like my cutlery!!!
-
@Diluted I bought my grohe stuff from Heritage Bathroom in geylang.
@infinity2015 thanks for the heads up! Will definitely compare the exact model first before purchasing!

@infinity2015 I thought amazon.com is the place to go for simplehuman stuff. Amazon prime is also under amazon.com, no? Looking at a stainless steel 10L butterfly opening trash can. Local options like home fix I thought prices are sky high as compared to online..?

In the blink of an eye, one month has passed since reno started. I must say the process has been worry-free in the sense I do not have to chase Mr K to do things and he will not go MIA. All questions asked were replied too so this makes me feel that my money was well spent. To date, we are only left with 5% of payment.
1. Wood part of Bedroom 3 - pending glass to "close" bedroom 3 up
2. Shoe Cabinet w/o cover yet
3. Master Bedroom wardrobe
4. Tall Unit (close-up) - cabinet, hole to put stuff, oven, drawer at the last layer
5. Kitchen Cabinet bottom with my Blum drawers and soy sauce rack - so far my most liked item
6. Kitchen Cabinet top
By the way, I purchased my Dyson V8 Fluffy on Qoo10 last week for only $649 because I made use of their $100 cart coupon for purchases above $600! Really excited and shared it with a colleague of mine who also bought it at a steal! The following day, a lady called to confirm the delivery date and I hope it reaches me within this week! Just last weekend, we went for our haircut and saw that the hairdresser uses a Dyson hair dryer! A little too atas for a hair dryer to cost $599? Hubby and I also decided to go back to Gain City Sungei Kadut to replace the impulsive Bosch vacuum with 2 Phillips induction cookers (steamboat kind).
Can't wait to order my Corelle plates and simplehuman trash cans from Amazon when reno is almost done!!!

It has been a while since my last update. Today was a super productive and tiring day because aircon guys came to install piping, delivery of our Grohe items, delivery of our oven, hood and hob, City Gas pipe installation. Shall let the pictures do the talking!
So this is the usual messy state now.
We first unboxed our taobao purchases and I think most are hits! Except for my very pathetic quality hangers which I didn't take any pictures of.
Happy with our lights purchase, now just hoping that it works. No dents or whatsoever.
Our Bosch oven! Didn't manage to take picture of our chimney hood or induction hob because it was too troublesome to unbox them. They will be installed another day.
Pleasantly surprised that our shower head and bidet spray are Made in Germany whereas the wash basin faucet and shower faucet are Made in Thailand. The packing is also different as you can see.
Shower screen for common toilet is done! Glad that we went ahead with a rectangular shower area instead of a square one because we have a bit more space to bathe our dachshund now. Master toilet shower screen had to be sent back because the measurements were wrong...
Our overly-used craft stone feature wall. This made the hubby very happy because he likes it very much. This is before grouting.
And this is halfway done with grouting...
This picture shows that the aircon trunking has to "touch" my door frame as explained by the Gain City guys that due to some beam, this is inevitable. Mr K also said that this is common in many homes so hubby and I just ok ok accepted it. The Gain City guys took 4 hours to do the pipings!!! Hubby and I stayed throughout because we wanted to see the end product before signing anything. Really very tiring because we did not bring any chairs or stools so yes, I stood there for 4 straight hours. I'm just so glad that everything that's supposed to come did eventually come... oh wait... there was something wrong with our KDK ceiling fans. I remembered we ordered silver ones but the 4 that came were all white and hubby did not even realise! He said that we bought so many things until he blur. I called Heritage and they confirmed that we ordered silver ones, so the guy had no choice but to come back and collect the wrong ones. They will be sending us our silver KDK fans together with our Vento Fino fan on Mon or Tue. Also, the OTTO floor standing basins that I ordered from Heritage did not come with the OTTO name on it. I wonder if they ordered a look alike from Taobao? Was quite uneasy about it but it's very troublesome to have to question them how come the name OTTO is not there. Hubby also said they may just bring it back and "tattoo" the name there just for the sake of doing it. So I thought, heck never mind as long as the shape and size is what I wanted.
Paid another 35% of reno fees because carpentry will come in next Tuesday... Mr K says that my tempered glass and metal frames for bedroom 3 will take some time because it's a long process to treat the glass and whatnot, so I shall update when more works are done!

Hi @Blade07 my track lights are on the two sides (right and left) of the room when you first enter the door. No particular reason but the layout is advised by my contractor so I followed his advice. Same for living room as well. Only for kitchen we only have one track across our small kitchen.
Fans are all 48" ones to prevent them from hitting the track lights on the sides.
