[Painting floors. pros and cons]

I've seen videos of this being done. how does this last in the long run? laminate tiles can be painted over too? 

Does this work on bathrooms?

Contracter quoted me $2000 for hacking kitchen and bathrooms. I hear that's on the steep side. 

If I get a sub-con to do the hacking and reno guys to do the reno, is that advisable? If so any sub-con for hacking for recommendation?

 

Also any good carpenter to recommend? I already know my design and layout.
