so that wraps up my reno journey.
Review on An...satisfied with his services and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. he was on the ball on almost everything and correct mistakes as soon as he knows about them. our reno was smooth and some items was delivered ahead of schedule some of the time eg shower screen. glad that my reno was smooth and the result was up to our expectations. An even gave a follow up wa msg asking if everything was ok after a month of moving in. really loving our new home now!

The chosen one has done up the Kompacplus some time back and this is the final product with our stuff. He gifted us the metal sheet behind the stove and the thingy where we put our plates and bowls So far no scratches or whatever yet, just annoying water stains.

Our dining table! Paiseh, have not taken out the bubble wrap from the chairs, so dont need show la anyway same pattern.
We saw this set (with different type of chairs) in SG and they were sold for a whopping $1.6k, maybe because of the
uglychairs lah. Siao man, so expensive hor? So we bought from taobao instead.cost us less than 1k (GST inclusive)
The cons of buying from taobao is obviously that you need to assemble yourself (not that it is hard lah, just need a lot of strength) or keep winking at your contractor to help you.
This table top is really very heavy because wife and I tried to move it into position after the chosen one helped us assemble.
took this photo is not to hao lian the table again, but to show the light that. We bought a 22w Philips light and it was sufficiently bright. If your house same layout as us, you can consider lor.
Again philips light. this one is 60w one. pls excuse the TV console area. 43" TV was just nice for us also! can watch from the dining table side and still can tell who is the actor. (also feeling very proud that we have zero connection to mediacorpse channels)

Our version doesn't have memory - something my wife have been "reminding" me repeatedly. Tell me - is it married liao then women start to nag one?! I mean... remind... Anyway though it works nicely, I wouldn't share the link la because I would recommend one with memory. Also it comes with China plug, so need adaptor lah.

Room curtains
Kids room.. Had alot of compliments for this.my girls love their curtain!
Both study and master bedroom curtain is the same but different colour.apparently this curtain is a korean style and alot of sellers have it. I purposely chose a two tone curtain as i had only one curtain rod in e rooms and i wanted a two curtain look.

My biggest achievement in this reno journey is getting custom made curtains from taobao! My chinese is cannot make it one but have to say becos of taobao,my chinese is from f9 upgrade to at least c6! My chinese teacher wld have been so proud! I liased with the.sellers on aliwang asking them abt the price for the length and height that i wanted.Once confirmed price,i engaged ezbuy buy for me services and they help me to order and ship it over.cldnt use prime as the sellers i chose werent on prime.
I wanted binds but i worry about my kids playing with the binds string and strangulation.. Mothers always worry..
Also i realised that curtains wld suit my house better,softening the look and creating a cozier environment.
Ordering curtains fr taobao was really tempting as they had lots of options and were really really much cheaper! I really mean it when i say much cheaper!
All in all, i had day and night curtains in living and dining room and curtains in all 3 rooms.total cost? Sgd622!! My mum who had offered to make the curtains for me was shocked at the cost as the sgd622 was inclusive of cloth and workmanship.she said that if we had bought the cloth here,it wld have been ard that price liao!

thanks! am glad that our marble floor's pattern is quite nice too and we din need to spend too much money on the floors..a repolish was all it needed to bring it back to its shining glory!
because of this marble floor, we cldnt go for the scandi look, but in hindsight, i like my house theme better!

Got these from separate sellers as the seller of the lights does not sell the strip disc.

This will be placed in the concealed pipe area in both the MBR and common toilets.
4. Service Yard (E27 bulb, 7W)

C. KITCHEN
1. Toilet roll holder
A kitchen needs a toilet roll, but I didn’t like how the toilet roll looks so out of place in my current home kitchen, so I carted this out in case I forgot to buy, haha.
2. Kitchen Sink (single bowl, 55cm)
After reading up on ceramic sinks (it’s so pretty!), it seems that utility wise, one can’t go wrong with stainless steel sinks. Hence, we decided on stainless steel. We initially wanted to buy from Singapore as my mum say that a quality kitchen sink is important. But the sinks that we saw ain't that impressive, already cost about $250! I was prepared to get one off amazon (quality seems better, ~ $170) but the shape bothers (the OCD) me.
Hence, I returned to Taobao. This costs $80, with pretty decent reviews. If this fails me, I will just buy one from Singapore.
3. Kitchen tap with pull out sprayer
I chose this tap because having helped my mum wash the dishes and sink a couple of times, I lament to myself how useful if I could have a pull down sprayer!
4. Pull out condiment tray (200mm)
Got a 200mm one because our bottom kitchen cabinet is L-shaped, and it’s best we leave more space for the corner cabinet.
D. BATHROOMS
1. Memory Foam Bathmat
D1. COMMON TOILET
1. PVC bathroom vanity set
We prefer to get stainless steel instead of PVC, but since we could not find any in Prime, we got a PVC one. It does not fit to our theme of white/chrome, so we decided to just play with monochrome for the common toilet.
2. Bathroom robe hook
I just had to buy this though I am not sure if it fits at where I envisioned it to be.
3. Bathroom basket (30cm)
4. Toilet roll holder
Got one with cover as there would be no shower screen installed in the common toilet.
5. Towel bar
There is a towel bar which I liked, but I decided against it after considering the utility of the common toilet. That's $18 saved, hehe.
D2. MBR TOILET
1. Waterfall tap
The same tap in silver costs about 10 bucks less (why like that!) but we love the matte look. We think that this is a nice twist from the usual water taps. We almost got the one with a slanted stand because the water fall looks more substantial but when we saw this we couldn’t resist!

Have not purchased anything else for the MBR toilet because I ain't sure of what accessories to get and if I want to buy them off taobao. Anything to do with MBR and MBR toilet cannot be compromised, hence I shall take more time to consider hahaha.
My house is going to look like a warehouse until I move these stuff to the new home.
Great tb loots choices! I have e memory foam bathmats and they r great! V plush feel! Have e bathroom robe hooks too and e toilet bar..we have e same taste.
Are u using storage heater or instant heater? I bought a rainshower fr tb but in e end cannot use cos i was using instant heater. So something for u to take note..i cldnt buy a toilet vanity cabinet fr.ezbuy prime leh.. They din wan to take e risk of damage so i bought mine fr spore instead.

The tiling guys came within the same week to start tiling! Started out with the kitchen. Our main contractor said our toilet and kitchen tiling is a chore , Bcus the tiles come in small pcs. Haha! the tilers did a wonderful job!
Tiles pictured below are from taobao! I shipped them in with Ezbuy and went through a hard time with Ezbuy. Through this episode I have also decided that I'd never engage Ezbuy's forwarding svc again.
Before we started with the kitchen wall, tiler laid out the subway tiles in two patterns and have us pick one. He explained the best of 2 choices and we went with his , because we believe it is best that way to avoid wastage and tiles warping/popping overtime.
Excluding kitchen and toilet, the rest of the house is now tiled with grey floor tiles, with black grouting. Tiles seen below are sourced locally, not from taobao!
Tilers also screeded the toilet grounds to prepare it for tiling works! We had plenty of hiccups with the toilet because of the water piping.
Example, before hacking we were threatened by the possibility of having to rerun the piping should the hacking guys drill through them by accident. That's because nobody knows how the piping were done by the previous owner's contractors. Hacking team pre empt us on that and we are thankful that it all went smoothly! Should it happen, we'd have to bear the cost of doing up the piping, which isn't cheap!
That weekend we had to finalize our decision on aircon since we needed to figure out where to place the drain pipe outlet before the tiling guys can continue with the tiling in the toilet!
We have heard plenty of horror stories with GainCity when it comes to aircon purchase. But since there was a GC fair at Expo, we made a trip down on a Saturday. Other than completing our aircon purchase, we also spotted our ideal Fridge in pearl White on display! Our home will be mostly neutral/white tones hence a white fridge has always been our choice. With that, we decided to put the $$ on it!
We bought the Hitachi 550L Inverter 2 Door fridge in white! It has since been delivered, after bargaining for the latest delivery date we can possibly drag on. Haha!
$39 for a Salav steam iron which comes in dusty pink. Pretty lightweight , and pretty pretty!
Pictured above is a 40cm hanging mirror which I got from Target Australia! Planning to place it above the toilet vanity. Size is just right for us but we have really limited space above the vanity due to exposed pipe running right below the ceiling. With that, BOH have to bend down a little to see his face haha! This renders it pointless. Thinking of selling this. Any takers?
Oh why!!! I wanted this badly when i was lookong for a morror in my common bathroom! Its perfect size and colour..I cldnt get it from taobao and i gave up! Oh shucks..i settled for a boring ikea mirror instead!! Cries...
