  1. sometimes cant count by the size of job too...they come all the way for a job..big or small..the margin and labour and transport is fixed....

if they come to do a 3 hours job...they use the same time to transport too from whereever they come from...

so bigger job normally sound cheaper cos we see bigger surface area...

  2. Thks Yoongf :):)

Bottle trap is in the middle , the gas will be at the side , probably get the 10kg gas , coz it's smaller.

    Thks again !! ;)

i also wanted to put the gas cylinder underneath my sink...carpenter not in favour..afraid that while changing the gas cylinder, we would accidentally hit the water pipe behind it...will be disaster...but i cant place it beside the oven...which oven is underneath the hob...scare too close..too hot will explore..

    sigh

  4. Hi,

came across this outlet at Sungei Kadut Ave and saw some nice leather sofas there. Not sure about the outlet though as there was not much human traffic when i was there. The place looked deserted...Wondering whether anyone has heard about this outlet and if so,appreciate if someone can share their experiences with St Louis.

    Thks in advance.

did not know they are at sungei kadut. I only buy from them in IMM. So far..3 sets of fabric sofa costing 2k+ for 3 families each and a king size bedframe with mattress 3k+ for my own use. No prob leh. My most loved items at home.

  5. that woman has a home? since ur father is assumingly not working..and you are assumingly supporting him...

he still has the means to get married and support a wife?

that woman is being supported by her own children? if so, they should continue to support....should have no financial issue ba.

if they think they no longer need to support since their mother remarry.....then ask your father go over there to stay ba...and do like wise.....

everything stay the same...instead of that lady transporting everyday to your home....as a guest...she move over to stay...but her family member should still continue to support her also...

or else what she eat at your house???

  8. hi, hope you guys can help me with this.

my parents home is using Toshiba Inverter Sys 4 with 1 compressor and 4 blowers (3 bedrooms and 1 living room).

Recently, the indoor unit / blower or watever u call it in bedroom 3 is leaking on its right side. We got a repairguy to come and he said need cleaning. Indeed, it has been 2 years since any cleaning takes place. So he clean. The aircon unit works fine.

2 weeks later, the left side of the same indoor unit of bedroom 3 starts leaking and dripping heavily. We called for the same repair guy again. He said there is some prob with the motherboard in the compressor. To prevent leaking, we should ON the aircon in bedroom 2 at the same time.

    So to change the motherboard,

choice 1 - brand new motherboard chip $900

choice 2 - 2nd hand motherboard chip $600 (dunno from where they can 2ndhand)

i am not very good technically, so i really hope for some advice. thanks

  9. I just bought a 5-years-old unit from a young couple (I believe they seldom cooked at home). The built-in oven is Ariston. When I use it, the first 10 mins is ok, afterthen, it trip my circuit breaker. I have tried twice, both same.

I found someone faced same problem in the forums and they called service people came down to repair, cost them S$220!!! Too expensive!!!

Is there any other way to settle it without call service people???

my mum place also, i think the oven use alot of electricity..so when i wan to use the ariston built in oven, i will off all aircons, water heater, boiler and unneccessary lightings in the house.

  11. Just to share. My mum was hospitalised in last dec due to liver complication. Doc says the most give few days to live. We have to mentally prepare ourselves. True enough, she passed away on the 4th day. I spare u the details.

There is no roller coaster ride for us and we are thankful. Staying 24hours in the hospital will make one collapse in fatigue. Do take care, drink alot of water. Dun drink so much mineral water as it will make u cough..constant weeping make it worse.

While we are grieving and praying for miracle, we are also prepared for the worst. We start to quietly check out the casket company and the fees. We knew and heard many stories of those sales person pressuring and confusing family in signing up 'packages' with them especially when we ourselves are in state of shock and sadness. Hospital bills is already hefty hence we knew we must NOT land ourselves in another financial burden again.

What we can do for my mum while she was in bed, knowing she is slowly slipping away from us, hold her hands, stroke her face, sing her fav songs, recall her memories of those moments with us (family gathering, holidays, shopping and eating trips), let her remember that she did have happy days, reassure her all of us will be strong and continue to live happily. We told God that if HE cant grant her full recovery, pls take her away from pain and misery. HE must have hear us...she went peacefully.

We used our medisave to purchase NTUC incomeshield for her and the whole hospital bill is fully paid by them. I would sincerely encourage everyone to buy that for parents and children. It really relieve some of our burden and worries.

  12. place big and super heavy flower pots..super spaciously at corridor. Neighbour will try to shift the pots closer to one another to save more space so she can put her pot....with all the shifting...very tiring neh....hehe...

actually, it seems that u dun mind having plants outside your corridor and your neighbour also wan to have plants along the corridor. And if you are not free to do planting....might as well let her do ALL the plantings. As long as the area is clean, no mozzie and there are flowers...just treat her as a free gardener loh.
