How much trust you can give them ? IDs/ contractors especially we do know them even if is your best friend introduce you dont know that guys current financial status so at all time do not give "CASH" give cheque is ok but not 90% even before the job start choosing the right company is hard -

There are three different classes of lighting. These are broad categories and that some lights may fall under more than one category, e.g. track lights. LED, fluorescent and incandescent lights may be used in either class. Ambient/General Lighting Ambient, or general lighting is the first class of lighting most people think of. Hi, I have engaged an interior designer to work on my new home. This designer was from a reputable design house in the east and has been in the industry for quite some time. They are always in Singapore expo during furniture fair. The prior experience has been positive and things can always be worked out, until we have signed on the line. For a home reno, the first step is to get the electrician to do up the necessary lighting points. I gave the ID free play on the design, lighting etc. To save him some trouble, I even agreed to use his electrician, if the ballpark price he offered was 3K plus. When the electrician came down, he looked through and gave a quote of 5K, which is after a discount of $4XX dollars. To make matters worst, I asked for a quotation and the pricing in the quotation was wrong. This made me hunt for another electrician for a second opinion. The second electrician price quoted was at least SGD 1K difference. Out of due respect, I decided to offer the quote to the ID and his appointed contractor. I offered 4K max sum. But they did not give in. Now the ID said that if I were to get the third party electrician, he will not warrant the damages to the flooring, carpentry, walls etc in the cause of renovation as these damages maybe caused by the electrician. The whatsapp message was very threatening, in my opinion. Any suggestions on what I can do?

I had sign up with A&D for my 5rm resale flat renovation and my ID is Elijah Yeo Renovation completed for almost 1 month and I'm very satisfied with the work done, some minor rectification that need to be done are done. Elijah was punctual for all our meetings. He kept his promises and knowing that we had to get the renovation done quickly, he went all out to help us achieve this. We were away for a week and he made sure that work was done properly while we were away. He's very easy to work with and helpful - he volunteered to wait for the delivery of our equipment eventhough it's not his job. When we texted him at 10 plus at night on a weekend, he even called us back to give us feedback. Afterall, the job was done so smoothly and without any fuss.

Hi,Can anyone recommend a direct contractor for mirror feature wall and brick panel wall. For brick panel wall, i would prefer the creative wall panel, its like a 3d panel wall with brick design and we can paint over if we decide on a change of colour. Crafted stone wall, i understand that it will be more expensive than the 3d panel wall. Basically i am looking for direct contractor listed below: 1. Carpentry works 2. Vinyl flooring 3. Mirror - Full height feature wall 4. Brick panel wall - Refer to the attached photo If you guys have any recommendations, do comment ya. thanks alot.

Recently we moved into new BTO flat. It was our first renovation. We had looked at about 5 renovation quotations before settling for ID Marcus of Renzz. He's fast and efficient with our queries and questions. His pro-active attitude won us over. Initially we had frustrating problem with bank loans but he was really nice about it, we really appreciate his understanding. Throughout the whole renovation progress, we would say it's a good experience, he would update us frequently through watsapp or email (even late at night!). Good thing is he did not hard sell any furnishings or products. We bought own lightings, sinks etc. and he installed for us. Our home concept is basic and simple but could see that Marcus put in effort for our simple job. We also needed to move in urgently which he managed to rush deadline for us. Overall good job with living room mirror, bedroom wardrobes, kitchen cabinet (except a small hiccup with drawer panel), shoe cabinet (another small hiccup due to miscommunication on ventilation holes) and vanity cabinet. We had to point out these small hiccups so others will know we are not fake new flat owners advertising for Renzz. Another thing, Marcus also provide after sale service which we think is a sincere deal from an ID.

Hi all, Anyone experience contractors or ID not performaning for submission causing delaying the renovation work and using many excuses including mentioning HDB officers and owner involvment, wrong selection of equipment and material etc... Is this the standard in Singapore contractors and IDs?? Am I the only one experience such issue??

I had several requests to see the work done by my ID. So I decided to upload it since I'm free. I sourced for several IDs to extend my kitchen as I felt that my existing kitchen had not enough space to do things and the cabinets were too high for me. Also, I wanted to make a 3-in-1 tv console, book shelf and shoe rack and was not sure how to go about designing it. It was not easy as most IDs wanted to charge me 7-8k to do my kitchen and a tv console with shelving and wanted me to pay first before coming up with any ideas. Eventually, I went with the ID who could meet my budget and even provided me some free 3D drawings to see what it would look like. This was the quotation. Description A Kitchen & Living Room 1 Design & Fabricate 4ft (w) bottom kitchen cabinet with ABS trimming and laminated finish 480 2 Design & Fabricate 7ft (w) top kitchen cabinet with ABS trimming and laminated finish 840 3 Addition of 4ft (w) of Black Galaxy Granite top with extended downturn and backsplash 480 4 Design & Fabricate 10ft (w) of bottom kitchen cabinet insert into existing configuration, with ABS trimming and laminated finish 1200 5 Hacking of existing kitchen cabinets 400 6 Mortar bed extension of 4 feet 240 7 6 ft (w) x 6ft (h) TV console and shoe rack 1980 8 Supply & Install 3 ft shelving 150 Discount (393) SGD 5,377

Hi all, Has anyone used their services before? I'm keen to find out. Checked the entire forum but so little info on this company. Me and my wife went down to expo to check out on the road show and their designs caught our eye...but sad to say, our first appointment the ID fly our kite last minute....abit not happy about it, reason given was cause she was with another customer.... (if first time like that then next time also will like that? ) Not sure if I should give a second chance....that's why posting here to find out any positive enough reviews for us to change our minds...
