  1. Designing your ultimate kitchen should be a rewarding experience. After you have gathered ideas for your kitchen from a variety of sources, the fun begins when you start to actually incorporate all the different design ideas into a coherent picture of your perfect kitchen. Furniture, interior design, modern residence, modern, house, sofa, table, kitchen, interview, modern home, modern design, 3d interior designers, 3d interior rendering services, offices interior designer, interior design studio, interior design firms, interior design for home, 3d interior modeling, interior concept drawings, architectural design home plans, residential interior design studio.
  2. i just engaged a contractor and he doesnt do 3D drawings, i would somehow like to organise the kitchen layout so that i would have more space for me to do my preparations for cooking. Any suggestions? Should i put all the tall units at one side of the kitchen? Or separate into 2 sides. My contractor suggested to put the fridge near to the kitchen entrance.. oven, microwave, water dispenser at the other side... how do you guys layout your kitchen, samples and ideas. Thank you so much in advance.
  3. My house recently changed to this kind of rubbish chute door (refer to pic). The problem is the handle of this chute door allows cockroaches to enter. When I seal the chute on fumigation days, I place a piece of tape across the handle and it ends up catching a lot of roaches that are trapped at the handle part. (The other sides are properly sealed too, and they end up catching some small roaches as well.) My question: anyone has a similar rubbish chute door and similar problem with catching a lot of roaches at the door handle? also, do roaches enter your house other than on fumigation days through the chute and what can I do to prevent that?
  4. Brand new Sugawa with full warranty 3 years + 3 months) One for one exchange during warranty period. Free delivery and installation. Will be new series which only launch in December (photo displayed is old one) https://youtu.be/Vw9RxMiNkng Watch this video for amazing cooking performance. I ordered it in an event which was $1899 (Lazada sells for $2399) but my mom doesn't like induction. That's why need to let go of it. Ours brand new and company will do the delivery and installation, you get full warranty like buying from store with 40% discount. The best parts attached me the most, 1. Programmed cooking, you don't med to watch the fire and it adjusts the fire level automatically. 2. You can heat up a glass of milk or bake a toast directly on the cooker. Save your microwave money 3. The whole set is probable, you can bring it to dining room to have steamboat and BBQ with your family. It comes with many amazing functions while my mom who cooks the most prefer old fashion... Let go at $1099. Price negotiable. Please take it on my behalf. Thank you.
  5. Anyone hear about Lapitec? I might need some information for this brand...
  6. I got to know this company :Country Concept through my friend's newly renovated house. Those photos are from her house, not mine. I was awed by such craftsmanship when i visited her house. As you can see, it was really well done therefore i decided to go down to the showroom at Tanjong Katong Complex to ask for a quotation. I told them I do not want the old country style and they assured me with their portfolio of recent projects which are mainly a fusion of modern and country style,( one example would be my friend's house) .They also explained to me and my wife the difference between them and others. Their pricing included everything from building of the cabinet doors from quality wood , carcass , painting , finishing which means the kitchen will be mostly completed by them rather than a plainly 'carcass look' by other firms. They studied our floor plan and accepted our custom designs for tables and chair and told us our quotation will be ready in three days. Cant' wait for them to get back to me ! Do check them out @ their facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/countryconcept/
  7. Recently my friend just won a Toto with around $10,000+. He wanted to use the money to renovate his house. But he is struggling which part should renovate first? Is it a kitchen, bedroom or living room first? Can anyone give some suggestion or pieces of advice? Thank you so much!
  8. Hi all, Im looking to renovate my home’s 2 bathroom and kitchen sink area. ID quoted $25K which I thought was rather expensive and wanted to get a 2nd opinion. ID did not mention floor area of work (cpsf). 2 bathrooms: - hacking of floor and wall tiles. Screed and tile relay. - Installation of bathroom fixtures and stainless steel pipe replacement. This alone costed close to $12K. - swing and slide doors installation Kitchen: - main work at sink area (est 5ft), including design and fabricate sink bottom with laminate finish with trimming door. - fabrication and design of dish rack on TOP of sink area.
  9. I recently met a general contractor online and decide to engage them as their office is very near my house. After their initial quote, I decide to scale down the scope of works as I can't find much independent reviews online and I have a pretty tight budget to work with. My current requirements as follows: HDB New Type BTO 4-room Need to have water heater storage tank in service yard with pipes connecting to Kitchen and common toilet pipes. Need to install Kitchen sink (600mm++), Kitchen Hob, Kitchen Hood (chimney type), Oven, Dishwasher (free standing type). Lower cabinets only. No upper cabinets. No additional walls, tiles, etc as I don't see a need for very good aesthetics. Just need a functional kitchen. Windows (privacy if possible) and grilles at service yard as the orientation of my service yard expose my kitchen to people walking pass. After signing, the contractor told me that might be additional cost which wasn't factor in: Extension of sink support to include dishwasher to prevent leaks - $300 Inlet & Drainage works for dishwasher - $120 Kitchen Hood installation - $80 Additional 15amp socket for oven/hob to be quoted by their in-house electrician - ??? Soft-hinges only for casement door (EXCEL), drawers are normal type. No BLUM. Also, there are no clauses for workmanship warranty, schedule, etc.. although the contractor did assure me 1 year workmanship warranty and provide the schedule separately. It's just quotation which I signed + pay deposit. While I wouldn't cancel as there will be penalty of 30%, if the pricing is not good, then I will probably need to get them to finish the task stated in the quotation and get another contractor to settle the rest if they are over-pricing their services. Would like to hear from the rest given that I'm not in this industry. External Image Link here: https://imgur.com/NBa5Bkg If you feel the quotation is cheap/fairly priced and want to get the contact of the contractor, I more than happy to share with you.
  10. hi friends. i just got my contractor to install my sink and countertop and he drilled the tap hole for me. however the hole is too small, and the space (that sliver part) is also too small for the tap that i bought! the tap base cannot fit into the silver space >< any advice on how to resolve this?
  11. Dear all, Kindly advise if you have any contacts for Bi folding Windows contractor. Will be looking for something as per attached pictures. Windows without the bottom track. Thanks In Advance.
  12. Hi everybody I know almost all HDB flats have the common features that common toilet/bathroom often shares the same space as the kitchen/dining area. Instead of having the dining table in the living room, I still want to have the table in the kitchen but the thing could be quite awkward especially when you have the toilet right nearby. And it would be even more unpleasant when your Friend uses the toilet and you could hear them calling their natures. So I’m thinking of installing fake movable wall or I don’t know that you don’t even know that there is a toilet or you don’t even feel that the toilet is actually there. Any thoughts?

  18. Hi, Just got a resale HDB flat and need minor reno. Am a reno newbie so hoping some of the old-timers here can help me out a little. Just wondering... if I need to change a kitchen sink, I understand I will also need to remove/re-tile the counter top for that area (the previous owner put the sink in the service-balcony area so it's sort of separate from the rest of the cooking/work-top areas). But do contractors do just that small amount of work? Or should I just get a plumber/tiler who can also do that + change toilet bowls + wash basin? Sorry if this sounds silly, just not sure if I should find individual vendors or get a contractor. Thank you in advance for your advice/help! cheers, WH

  22. We are in final planning stages of our house and my wife and I are having difficulty deciding where to position the main and secondary sink in our double island kitchen. Option 1: position the main island closest to the cooktop (current design). This leaves the second island clutter free for guests and family to gather. Also, it’s a quick access to the sink when you need to drop dirty skillets and pots. On the other hand, it can create a bottle neck when one person is cooking and the other is washing dishes. Also, opening the dishwasher (we might have 2), will severely limit the space there. Option 2: place the secondary (small) sink closest to cooktop. This provides room for prepping and cooking. Place main sink in the outer island, which frees up space for 2 people to work easily together. But then again, that limits counter space for family and guests to sit there and may be less esthetically pleasing. Any advice will be welcomed!
  23. After 20 years of living in my apartment, the kitchen and bathrooms are getting old. For examples: 1) the bathtub has a few chipped surfaces in a few areas; 2) the kitchen and bathroom wall tiles are showing some small cracks; 3) the vanity top has a few chipped surfaces and small cracks. Instead of doing the standard hacking and renovating which can get very messy and noisy as the occupants have to continue to live in the apartment, I am exploring the option of refinishing and reglazing the affected bathtub, vanity top, and wall tiles. Has anyone done this in your home before? Does the finishing quality looks good? Do the refinished/reglazed surfaces have quality issues such as peeling, cracking, bumps, etc.? Do you have any good contractors to recommend if you are pleased with the outcomes of your refinishing/reglazing work? Thanks!
  24. Hi, I need feedback from the forum regarding the quality of the iQuartz or Caesarstone, and your feedback on our price quotation from an ID. - iQuartz and Caesarstone? I failed to find out how the quality varies between the two brands in the renotalk forum. The current owners who installed these either iQuartz or Caesar stone. 1) How long have you installed it? 2) What is your experience with the product? (installation, quality, etc) What justifies the price premium of Caesarstone other than the branding? We may switch from Caesarstone to iQuartz if the quality is good and reasonable. Is the following price quotation reasonable? SGD2,320 for Labour and material to install 20mm Caesarstone Kitchen countertop with backsplash Size: L:2,900mm x HT: 860mm x D: 600mm | L:1,400mm x HT 860mm x D: 600mm Thank you
