I'm not sure this is the correct category I should create this, but hopefully someone can help (as I'm already running outta options). (= So, I got this resale flat and I want to do which I consider minor touch-ups as I don't really wanna do full renovation. Kitchen Firstly, the cabinet. It is in perfect condition. But.... the cutout area for the fridge is only around 28 inches! (I can get a small fridge since there are only 2 of us. But it is really really hard to get a small but decent fridge of this size!) So, I'm wondering whether I can get a contractor to cut out the cabinet? Will the contractor do such things? And how much can I expect to spend on it? Secondly, there is a platform for washing maching just outside of the bathroom. The thing is it is right in the middle of the kitchen! So, I want to remove it and put the washer at the corner. But I'm a bit concerned about the drain though. If I want to move it to the corner, should I redo the drains? Bathroom I saw packages for the bathrooms. But can I just redo the floors (not walls) and change other stuffs like the bowls and sinks? How much will it cost on average just to do the floor? Given these options, would it be more advisable to do a complete reno on kitchen and bathrooms? But frankly, I don't really spend that much on the complete reno. Thanks in advance, (=

Hi everyone, we are doing our kitchen renovation now and our contractor is asking us to choose a paint colour for our kitchen glass backing. Understand that there will be a greenish tint because of the glass' own colour. Can any kind soul share with us what colour you chose for the glass backing? Some photos will be great! Hi, I've just purchased a 27 year old resale flat, 4A model. My floor plan is below. I don't intend to hack any walls, though I am open to changing the door directions. My queries are: 1) The kitchen has its internal space eaten up by the toilet, the rubbish chute and also the storeroom. What would you recommend as a feasible layout for the sink, cooker/hob and washing machine? The chute is currently covered over by the sink that was moved right over it (old reno style). Should I leave it open, or create a "yard" with making a L-shape with the sink sticking out. However, that won't leave me much space with walking since the toilet extrudes into the kitchen floor space. 2) Both the toilets for MBR and common are on the smaller side. The big ugly Y shape pipe is only in the common toilet. How can I create a spacious enough shower area, preferably with glass door or screen for the MBR toilet and/or common toilet? Hi My ktichen is next to the bomb shelter, Is there any regulation that we can't build overhead kitchen cabinet on this wall partitioning the kitchen and bomb shelter? I was told you can't drill too deep into the wall for a secure cabinet. My ID suggested having a wet kitchen basically putting the kitchen hob in the service yard, making the actual kitchen a dry one. But I was told the authority might not extend the gas pipe to the service yard, heard of such thing? Thanks. Kelvin

Hi, Im just wondering if anyone has any experience of kitchen solid surface cracking? My kitchen was done up about 8 yrs or so. The rest of the kitchen is still in good condition with the normal wear and tear. However, the crack appeared on the solid surface on both top corners where it is supporting of my hob. And it is quite deep. The thing is that I have rented out my house and apparently my tenant told me tt the crack started 2 yrs back (and he didnt even tell me and we didnt notice until now). Is this wear and tear? Best way to solve this?

For those who have installed blum, any idea if its better to let blum appointed contractor to do up ur kitchen or just get ur id's carpenter to install the blum hinge n drawers? Heard from people saying if its not an appointed contractor who installs the blum systems den the warrenty will be voided. I don't think it's this way right? As long as we purchase blum from the appointed resellers, the warrenty will still be covered even if its not an appointed contracter right?

A small piece of my kitchen sliding door is broken, and I'm not sure if I can replace it. It is the piece that is nailed to the floor, and my door slides ON it. (I don't know what to call it. Maybe the 'stopper') Is this a standard design I can buy from some hardware shop, or do I need to find the original door manufacturer. I have also attached a pic of my door, because I do not know who the manufacturer is. Hope I can find a replacement 'stopper', and need your collective help to know where to look...

Anyone has any experience with these laminates. Able to share which brand is good. i find that nexxis laminates are quite thick compared to jennings and arova. Im still waiting for lam chuan and edl samples. Opinions, experiences are much appreciated.thank u.

Hi all, I will be getting a 3room bto(floorplan attached below) soon and having look through quite a few websites, it does not really suits my needs. 1. For the kitchen(i think it will be a 2 side), is there that only comes with the kitchen cabinet set preferably with sink, hood and hob. 2..As for the toilet, i would like to install only hard tempered glass doors for both bathroom.
