  4. Good day all, I've just bought aircon for my resale flat. When the aircon guys came to install the aircon, they saw the area where the condenser unit was supposed to be fixed outside the master bedroom window and said the normal brackets cannot be fixed. The reason was that the previous owner had modified the space. Where the wooden panel used to be, was replaced by a window and according to the aircon guys, the metal beam is now missing. Without this metal beam, they cannot install the brackets to support the condenser unit. Is there a metal beam in the first placw for hdb flats? Kindly advise as to what should be done now in order to get the aircon condenser unit fixed.

  6. Hi all. I just bought a 5 room flat and I am wondering if there is such a thing as 'aircon re-wiring'? I tried googling for this but couldnt find much info on it. We have 4 bedrooms but the current air conditioning split unit is such that the 4th aircon is placed in the living room. I would like the 4th aircon to be placed in the 4th bedroom instead.

  12. I am looking to install air-con for 1 bedroom and living room for a resale 3R flat. - easy maintenance - energy saving It seems like Toshiba (supposedly made in Japan better) and Mitsubishi are the top choices. Any recommendation? The pipe stuff for installation looks complicated. Any advice for new timer to take note of when purchasing the air-con w/o being conned with cheap poor quality installation? Thanks
  13. I visited Gain City and purchased the following system 3 combination as salesman recommended Mitsubishi Electric MXY-3A28VA / 2 X MSY-GE10VA / MSY-GE24VA I'm owning a 4rm HDB, wondering if the GE24VA is too big for my living room. Plus, the unit is 1.1 meter long which I don't like. My dining area plus living is only about 20-25 sqm. Should I change the unit to 18VA only? I assume the number means or closely means to BTU, which should be enough for my living room, right? I don't have to install the big unit to overkill as well. Hope anyone has experience could advice. I would need to change quickly if needed as installation is happening next Monday.
  14. Could you share if you have experienced the same .... Just installed 3 Daikin air con units RKS60, RKS50, RKS25 in november 2013. Within a month, the RKS50 broke down. We were told that it was due to a bad swing compressor, fan motor dc and printed circuit assemby. Today, barely 2 months after installation a second unit RKS60 broke down. I observed exactly same symptons. Dont what has happened to Daikin. Thought this is the most reliable ac brand?
  15. Hi. My HDB estate is expected to poll for HIP soon. One of the improvements is the upgrade of the electrical load from 30A to 40A. May I ask if any experts know what is the impact on choice of aircons ? Am living in 4room place and looking to install a System 4 (probably Panasonic or Daikin). Intuitively I expect I can use a more powerful system, but that means I will need to wait another two years. Tried asking a couple of aircon sales people but didn't get any headway. Thanks in advance for enlightenment.
  16. I have HDB 4 room house. 110 SQ Meter. We bought about 12 years back. My house is windy so I decided no need Aircon and installed ceiling fan in all room. Now I felt I will install Aircon because march april it is getting hot. We have 3 Bed room. My Unit is North facing so it is not warm. Myself and my hubby sleeps in Master bed room and my teenage kid sleeps and studies in second bed room. The third bed room we just use it for keeping computer. If my mom comes she uses the Computer bed room. she seldom comes and stays at my place(may be once in 3 months). For the Main Hall we do not require Air-Con. My confusion is should I buy Aircon for 2 bed rooms or 3 bedrooms. 1) Should I buy SYS2 or SYS3? 2) Is there any significantly difference in power consumption if I buy SYS3 and use only 2 Units and seldom turn on the 3rd bed room? 3) Any recommended brand? 4)How do I decide the Capacity (BTU)? 5) I saw courts offering 5 year warranty? Any hidden small font terms I should pay attention? 6) Any recommended place to buy? 7) Any specific information or specification or terms I should look into it.? Appreciate Thank you
  17. PROMOTION ENDED. Thanks for those that buying from us

  19. I did a quick search in this forum but nothing turned up. Bought a Panasonic Inverter 4 aircon over the weekend from Gain City, and the receipt says that we're supposed to provide a 15A power point for it. Now I have no problem with this, but when I went to get the details of the compressor and FCUs, I saw this: Running Current: 9.4A I have no electrical experience, but doesn't that mean that a regular 13A power point would be sufficient? I'm not sure whether there's already a 15A point there, in which case this is a moot point, but if not it would be nice to save a few bucks on this. Might also be useful for others in the future with this question. Some advice would be great
  20. Hi, anyone got good air-con contractor to recommend?? I'm planing to change my air-con units, best if they can provide like servicing package. My ID recommend me to Gain City as the price and service is quite good. But I want to compare the price
