  1. Hi guys, Few years back i painted my bedroom wall a dark red color. Immediately white patches begin to show up. I tried wiping them off but it came back shortly after. I didn't use any primer for that paint job. Now i am sick and tired of these ugly wall and planning to paint them. After reading thru forums, i believe the root cause is the absence of the primer cause the water from the previous paint job to seep into the new paint. My question is, before I prime these walls, do I need to completely remove these white patches first, then prime them or just leave it as it is and paint over them? I am afraid I might make matters worst since i will have to wipe them with water, and prime them after would cause more disaster since the issues is water to begin with. Also I realize that place where my head always lean on the wall when I have hair oil(olive oil) seems to clean of the white patches really well. I thought maybe I should wipe my walls with light coat of olive oil and then start with my paint job (primer included this time). Do you think this would cause any problems? Next what primer do I use? Is water base primers that claim to be have amazing sealant power be sufficient? or is it a must to use oil- base primers? I read it's a huge hassle to use oil-primes, I really am leaning towards water-base primer because of this. I am looking at Benjamin Moore paints which are latex base-paints. Can I use a latex-base paint as a top-coat over a water-base under-coat? same goes for oil-base under-coats, is it advisable to use a latex-based top-coat? and have anyone tried using Benjamin Moore paints? which ones do u recommend for our normal HDB wall. You can see I am truly armature here, I hope anyone who is knowledgeable can shine some light on this. I have also attached the photo of my horrific wall.
  2. Hello Everyone! I'm looking for some advices. We have been staying in a new HDB unit for 2 years. Recently, we spotted lots of tiny bugs (1/2 size of an regular ant or even smaller) crawling on the wall in the service yard. When we tried to kill them, sometimes they would jump Pls see the attached photos... 1. do you know what bugs are they? 2. any ideas on how to get rid of them? thank you so much in advance!
  3. Hi Just wanting to check base on all your experience an i getting a Fair deal. Basically i am removing this build in table and drawer (they are one pic altogether stuck to my wall) And then I am going to redo only the drawer part making it into a sliding door. The whole length of the Drawer is 9.5Ft I am Q $950 for this. For both removal and redo of the drawer, he say that he already did not charge me the removal fee already don't know how true that is. What do you all think?

  5. Recently I came across a FB page about this company D'ONE Service (I like their Company Name Which say's DONE) while sourcing for some home accessories. Thought can share on this platform (fb.me/doneservicellp) They help people to do sourcing and customization. Was very surprised that such a company do exist in Singapore. Their service are pretty fast. Takes only 2 days to sourced the items which I need and at reasonable price. Talk to this guy call Eric. He told me as a sourcing agent, their company not only doing sourcing but alot more than I can think of. Will see what else that my company or myself need. Will talk to this guy again. I hope to share more findings on other matters to you folks. Cheers!
  6. Hi All, I need an opinion on choosing between Mitsubishi Starmex and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Aircon. Requirements: Aircon in 4 rooms (1 living and 3 bedrooms) Usage: Living room (high usage) Master Bed (high usage) Other 2 bedroom (very limited, only when there are guests) This is what I have booked with GC, though I have an option to change it. ==================================================================== Mitsubishi MHI System 4 Inverter SCM80ZJS (outdoor unit) with 3 ticks [can support upto 31K BTU] 3 x SRK35ZMAS (12K BTU) [Bedrooms] 1 x SRK71ZMS (24K BTU) [Living room] Upgrade to 1/2" SYS 4 (CLASS 1) Upgrade Copper G23 to G22 ==================================================================== Other Aircon I'm considering: Get 2 System 2 units (both 5 ticks) Mitsubishi Starmex: Master Bedroom and one other bedroom System 2 Inverter MXY-2G20VA (20K BTU) - outdoor unit 2x MSXY-FJ10VE (9K BTU) - indoor unit Living room and remaining bedroom System 3 inverter MXY-3G28VA (28K BTU) - outdoor unit 1x MSXY-FJ18VE (18K BTU) - indoor unit 1x MSXY-FJ10VE (9K BTU) - indoor unit I'm wondering if I should go with just one System 4 or split to 2 System 2 If I choose MHI, then I can only use the Aircon in Living and Master bedroom concurrently. if I turn on any more units, the cooling efficiency will deteriorate. Starmex costs more and I would be using 2 outdoor units concurrently, which is not cost efficient. Thanks for the assistance.
