  1. Personally not a fan of the furniture e-retailers in Singapore like 42, hipvan etc cos cannot try and their 100 day return/exchange policy is just a pretext for selling you second hand items others have sat on before...however, I came across this website with prices much cheaper than other e-retailers but with better quality! The sofa cushioning was much better than expected even though I was apprehensive of not being able to sit on it beforehand .. www.chairsactually.com
  2. -pre-love with good condition. -self-arrange transport -Yishun area -sms/whatsapp 965twozero670 -selling at $120. dimension (in cm) wide:205 depth:95 height: 38 (seat level from floor) height: 88 (back rest from floor)
  3. Due to my space small, my ID recommends sofa no longer than 180cm width. any lobangs? I really like these sofas along these style, especially from abit of extended leg (so that I can clean the base) From CB2, but this model is not available in SG, need special order, cost a bomb and have to wait a few months for shipment. (About $3,239 sgd) From CB2, this one looks cute, clean and cosy for a small space, ($2568) From Commune, alot of this appears on Home Decor magazines, cost around $2,200+ I dont mind this but it's above 180cm Please let me know if you know where to find nice sofas.
  4. I have been a follower of this forum for a long time and basically this is a good forum for new homeowners wanting to buy furniture. I have some thoughts I would like to share with everyone: 1. Buy from established retailers. There have been many many consumers burnt by dodgy shops in the last couple of years. Many of them have paid deposits or even made full payments at shops and these shops have closed down without delivering product. On this forum alone these shops include: Executive Living, The Montella, Species and Sense Art. A good way to tell if the retailer has been around a good long time is by looking at their GST Registration number or their Company Registration number on the sales orders. The first 4 digits show the year the company was registered. It is tempting to buy from such companies because they will make a lot of promises on warranties and give big discounts. But if they close down, who is going to honour their warranties. For example, Executive Living came out promising 5 year warranties on their sofas. What difference does it make if they offer 10 year warranties. They have closed down. 2. You will get what you pay for. There is no such thing as a super deal in the real world, if something is really really cheap you should really really not buy it because good furniture costs money to make. So if something is really cheap either the quality is compromised or the seller does not plan to deliver. So what is really really cheap: 1. Fabric sofas below $800 2. 3 Seater leather sofas below $1200 3. L-Shape leather sofas below $1500 4. Spring mattresses below $500 5. Pocket spring mattresses below $800 If you find the above items below those prices and they are not on clearance, think really hard. As consumers, you work hard for your money, spend wisely.
  5. Hi folks, I have finally settled down to having my full length curtains (for our TV room) customised by a small shop located in a heartland region (Tampines Street 43). Although I am no expert in curtains, but the workmanship & quality of fabric seems to have exceeded my expectations even though I am a very fussy customer. You could size up the extent of my fussiness by just reading through the other renovation related topics in my blog. And given our fengshui requirements, we opted for gold curtains which would have cost us a bomb should we purchased them elsewhere. I would like to share a few photographs in this thread: If you are keen in reading up more details about our gold tone curtains with an embossed fabric texture, please feel free to visit my blogging entry on this topic at the following link : http://barbettey.blogspot.sg/2013/09/my-newly-customised-curtains-from-hong.html Cheerios!
