Hi all,

bringing up an old thread.....

This morning at around 4.45am, there were several banging and knocking sounds from the upstairs neighbours. Initially I thought it's just a random noise but it lasted till 515am!! I really wonder what they are doing at that hour. So I went upstairs and knocked on the direct neighbour's door, and asked nicely if they have heard the noises. She claimed that it was the unit above them and they were affected by that as well.

I'm not trying to be cynical but I just want to find out if it's possible for the unit 2 floors above my unit, to cause noisy disturbances because I've never experienced this before.

i tink your upstairs neighbours are lying, becoz i have also encountered that before, last time at my mother's house. they also and forever blame upstairs. what the **** they doing at such an unearthly hour? no need to sleep? i hate these kinda inconsiderable pple leh!

No, they are BS'ing you. Some people can be uncouth, inconsiderate and just don't care.

my upstairs neighbour seems to have never-ending holes to drill.

but everytime we check, it sometimes was hole drilling by 2 or even 3 units above.

knocking on walls/grounds also same for my case.

For my case, there's this assh*** that stays upstairs super disgusting. They smoke and throw the cigarette butts at my aircon ledge. Today I saw chicken bone there..F*** man. They got no dustbin or what..still got such disgusting people in this era. I complained to the town council and they say can't do much unless u got evidence showing the person throwing down the litter. TC could only send a warning letter to all the units above me...ya as if the assh*** would bother to read.

Not only that every night walk like elephant n slam doors. The best part is fry dunno what sh*t every day for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Open catering company huh. I can even smell in my living room.

drilling every other day

slam doors, drag stuff across floor at all hours, stomp around the hse

nobody responds when go ring upstairs unit door-bell ( 5 mins ago there was drilling)

complain to hdb , useless, asked to go mediation dunno for what?

upstairs house-owner dun care what foreign tenants do , jus bochap as long as get rental income

inconsiderate tenants mus stop thier nonsense not victims learn to adapt & tolerate much more disturbance

just encountered a similar case as yours...had been seeing ash and cigarette butts on our ledge and today we witnessed the neighbour staying above us using a bamboo stick to push litters off their aircon ledge during the midday when a lot of neighbours including us had put out laundry....we 'confronted' them asking how can they be so inconsiderate! we exchanged words.....and the aunty screamed 'must they select a auspicious date and time to do whatever they had done!!!!

wonder wat can we do since now TC will push this responsibilty away!

Its the hardest thing in the world trying to get along with neighbors but if you can find away to approach them without letting your frustration show it helps. Find away to be calm and let them know how you feel without it sounding angry thats how I've always gotten the best results.

Tried calm before and it doesn't work. My upstairs China neighbour throw cigeratte butt onto my aircon compressor never mind, not extinguish so ended up burning a hole in the rubber mat I placed on the compressor to lessen the tip tapping sound of rain or dripping from upstairs. On most nights, I can smell cigeratte smoke in my room. I also found toothpicks, tissues, plastic pieces, etc.... everyday, there is something new. Dripping mop or laundry, stomping around or drilling in the night, talking loudly or screaming at child, plastic pails being thrown around, better still, when they water plants, it would be like raining for the neighbours living below. Went up, nicely tell them sorry to disturb u ar but hor this or that. Always claim not them. Even dripping laundry also say not them but I can see from my window lor. Still say not them. When I return to my house, magically the bamboo with dripping laundry disappears to appear in the next couple of days. Oh! Lagi best one is they wash their toilet windows using water hose and water all splash onto my master bedroom laminated flooring. I screamed at them to stop. They did this on a bright sunny day..... How like this? Every 2 days go up and slow talk to them? What happen if one day I so `heng', the wind blows and the lighted cigeratte butt flies into my room and light up my room? I have not found a solution but wish one day, this neighbour would become considerate.

At least you know is which neighbour that is responsible and u caught them red handed, you can report to your town council.

You take some photos of the cigarette butts n litter and show to TC. You have to call/visit the TC regularly for updates because they may not take it seriously. These low class people need to be slap with a huge fine then they won't dare to litter anymore.

For my case I still don't know which is the idiot throwing the ciagratte butts coz he/she throws during day time when no one is at home and the ashes all fly into my kitchen n my clothes all polluted already.

My flat is a 4 unit point block so which means that our corridor is very small. My other neighbours like to hang dry their clothes outside the corridor which makes it very unsightly and very luan. My opposite neighbour who just moved in also started to hang their clothes outside the corridor! When we went up last Sat, we found that they have went a step further and hung their clothes just right outside our unit!! I was so furious!!!

My adjacent neighbour treats the whole corridor as theirs and they fill the corridor with their clothes..they had a lot of kids in the house....once, they even placed the kids' school shoes on the rubbish chute to dry them and another time, we found they hung their teck koh on the rubbish chute area!!!

We haven't moved in and they are already making me very upset, esp my opposite neighbour who hangs their clothes outside our unit. How to tell them nicely that we don't want them to hang outside our unit?!

Sometimes I feel like shouting at them...their kids also make alot of noise on the cooridor...they were so noisy that I went outside and ask them to lower their volume once....now going up to our unit is like waiting for a nightmare waiting to happen....sobz...

Hi, mine also same case like you. I dun waste time talk to them, I email to TC and said it a fire safety hazard to my family as their cloth in just infront of my main door blocking my escape route if anythings happen. Remember to send with photo and their house unit number. I waited for about 2month, I see cloths are still the same hanging there. This time round I email back to TC and also the MP in-charge of the area. Within 1week, cloth and metal hanger are gone for good. Haha, you must keep sending email to them unitl things are solve.
