Me and my hb are consulting a Gynaec at KKH private suite for problems in conceiving (after a miscarriage )for more than one year.We would like to change hospital and go to a doctor specialising in Infertility.

If you have any suggestions please share wth me.

Have anyone heard of Dr.Jothikumar who specialises in Infertility at Gleanegles?Any other name to suggest?

It would be a great help indeed.

Thanks in advance

Hi Purple,

Dr Jothikumar is my gynaec. Not sure that he specialise in fertility. But he is a good doc. My freid married for 10 years and trying to conceive, seen many doc and visited many medium too. After she gave up all hopes and let nature takes it course, Wala !!! She got pregnant. She is now a happy mother of a 3 years old boy. You can too. Try to relax and not think too much into it. All the best to you.

Hi Purple

Since u r already consulting a gyne in KKH, I would encourage u to continue, cos u already did blood tests/scans, etc. If u were to go to another, u would most probably hv to go thru all dat again. Also, u didn't mention your age group, which is also a contributing factor. For women >30 yrs old, its normal to take up to > 1 year of trying. Theres a fertility clinic in KKH, r u wif them or jus consulting a gyne there....

Like wat nimo said, sometimes it helps to give it a break and let nature takes its course... go for a nice romantic getaway... R & R helps to reduce stress hormones which will in turn helps to increase your fertility hormones.

All the best to you.

Hi,

Just to share my story wif u. I have been trying for 5 yrs but was not sucessful. Did all tests at Mt. A & Thomson Hospital. Both doctors told me there isn't any chance in conceiving, if can go for IVF. I was so sad. I dunno what to do. So I decided to try out with TCM doctor, after 9-12mths of long waiting time in the clinic and taking the medicine (btls & boiling med).... and thanks GOD, I was pregnant. No one believed me, even my hub himself unable to believe it. I have to asked the nurse to tell him.

Maybe you can give TCM a try if you willing to take chinese medinice and you must be very patient. Hope you can consider. All the best to you.

Regards.

Purple,

Perhaps can share wif us more on yr age & both u and yr other half's health status?

After yr M/C, did you do a mini confinement to nurse back yr health? Cos if u r able to be pregnant, there shd be not much of a plm for u to conceive again. Normally aft yr m/c, u will get preggy again in a couple of mths if u really try hard again cos after m/c, u will be more fertile.

Since u hv consulted the gynae at the KKH suite, wat did he suggest to you? From my experience, most gynaes will suggest IVF, IUI or SO-IUI if u or yr other half hv some health plms....or no results after taking their supplements or vitamins aft some time...

I agree wif wat yan485 suggests, sometimes TCM will really help! Perhaps u can give a try? Bt TCM do requires 6 mths to 12 mths to c results...bt if u r lucky, u might strike before tt?

I am sorri, bt I do not hv any fertility doc to recommend u....bt if u r keen to do IVF, Dr SF Loh from KKIVF is not bad...I heard high success rate under him...my kolig's SIL and her frens succeeded under him at their 1st try....

Meanwhile, do take care and stay relaxed and happi!

Went to see Dr Micheal Wong Yuet Chen, formerly from TTS, now he set up his clinic at Mount E. Quite a good and a humorous doctor, if you ask me.

Btw, before consulting an expert, does your spouse and yourself have any other health problems? My missus has natural miscarriage around the same period as you. The doctor assured us that we have no major problem in conceiving, but it takes time.

You can start trying to conceive by now, if you are mentally prepared. One of my usual GP has gave me a very good advice. That's Life force. Both of you must build up the mood and the atmosphere for your "newcomer" to arrive. Your house, financial stability, rekindle your dating, and eventually build up your sex sensually. Your child will come eventually one.

Remember, just don't rush things out.

From our experience, just do not rush things for a baby. Especially if the wife has just suffered from miscarriage. Do not succumb to pressure from elder's side. Do not listen to their folktales etc, traditional chinese medicine are fine, as it promotes the overall well-beings of your wife. But please do not go too far off. You should know what I mean. However, Iron, folic acid, and calcium are very important during pregnancy stage.

I guess I can never experience the traumatic experience of my wife when this thing happened, imagine the joy for the 1st 5 weeks, till the drastic drop in our mood around us when my wife started to bleed, and when the reading starts to drop so sharply. I guess as a husband, I have to move forward, although I weep a little, no joke man does cries. I have to take utmost priority to reshape her back to good health, and of course to pay more attention to her mood swings etc. We have a good talk, and I convince her that's maybe it will be better that it happen this way, and early too so that we might have a deform baby in the later stages.

Afterall she manage to recover well, and I guess it's good time that we will try it again.

Just remember, there's hope one, don't lose your hope. "There is life after miscarriage".
