Unsightly Pvc Pipe Joint Under Wash Basin

Recommended Posts

Plumber just fixed the PVC pipe to join chrome bottle-trap to concealed wall drainage pipe under my two wash basins. Don't have a vanity top/cabinet, so these pipes below can be seen clearly. Yellow marks are so obvious between PVC and drainage pipe too.

I've asked him a few times already if there's another way to improve on this connection and was told this is the best and only way.

Is this true? Would appreciate any advice or info. Thanks!

My hubby posted this query cos he's so frustrated over the way the pipes look.

Says it spoils the new tiles, new wash basin, etc, etc with such ugly joinings.

Previously were undermount basins with vanity tops. We hacked those away and replaced with wall-hung basins which have to be installed slightly higher. And now the drainage hole in the wall is not aligned with the chrome bottle-trap.

Our contractor didn't explain this to us till the plumber had installed the wash basins. That's why hubby's so fed-up.

Now thinking of changing to all PVC, but not sure if will affect the chrome pop up waste in basin ...
