Looking For Lighting Shop

Recommended Posts

hi

ive just gotten all my lightings today. prior to this, we visited a few shops, some of which cant remember the name. the few i recall are as follows...

lightings.com.sg - visited the jalan besar branch, find the range quite limited, the salesman was not very knowledgable nor helpful. maybe better luck at balestier??

vlux at geylang - expensive and offered strictly 10% discount only. service so-so, staff lukewarm but would still give you attention, bought a few lights cos cant find anywhere else.

168 trading at jalan besar - my favourite shop. range was reasonable, service was good and prompt and it seems like a good and honest shop. gave good discount and threw in spare bulbs. staff was knowledgable, helpful and patient. bought most of my lights there.

By the way, I really find Strass lightings has some nicer designs for hanging lights. Downlights quality doesn't seem as good as Lights Arcade (they are selling at $10 cheaper than other shops!! That's too good to be true I feel!). Other basic lights - hamburger / ceiling lights with normal design, I think quite safe to buy from Strass at a cheaper price bah...??

**disclaimer: I really haven't installed my lights so it's too early for me to review their lights' quality. If you can wait, perhaps wait for me to install the lights and give another review before buying? :D..**

Hope this helps.

I agree, the lights at Strass much nicer and more variety.

I did went to a few lights shops along balestier and I also feel strass lightings are nicer than the rest. I hv yet checked and compared the pricing tho, will still consider them. The guy who served me did not hard sell as well. I don't like hard sell IDs.

New to renotalk but just sharing my take on l1ght1ngs.c0m. Its indeed cheap but variety are super limited. However i confirmed my order last week for all my lights and on monday, was called to change my lights as they had no more stock! Very surprised why would they sell if they had no stock. Anyway went down and changed the selection.

Today another call was made to say they had no more stock on their lights AGAIN and prompted me to go down to reselect or refund. Now i am thinking if i will get another call that next week require another change of lights!! Agree that l1ght1ngs.c0m has a good price but they are really not very dependable and now they sound like they are clearing leftover stock!!

L1ght1ngs.c0m has a good price but to keep going back and having to pay more for replacements sounds like i would have been better off if i went to a dependable shop in the first place. Perhaps only buy from them if they truly have alot of stock meaning their shops are fully equipped or you will end up like me having to have additional worries and overheads amounting to frustration and potentially more frustration.

Sometimes, dependability is still the best deal.

I bought from both Lightings.com.sg and Strass Lightings.

Prices at Lightings.com are great, and the electrician they sent to install my lights were hardworking and reasonable in price (can bargain a bit). Only complaints I have is that their customer service guy messed up the date for my light installation so it was delayed by a week, and also on the day of delivery and installation one of the lights was faulty and another light bulb in my chandelier blew immediately after switching on. Thankfully they are responsible and the electrician told me they will bring them back and replace them and return another day to install for me.

I only bought one light at Strass Lightings but had no problems at all with it. But I wouldn't say they are the cheapest.

Mmmm... many people holding iPhone nowadays. 100% made in China too. Most things we use today are made in China.

I got all my lights and ceiling fans from Illum lighting along balestier road…Sorry I'm new to the forum, dunno how to load pics!

I just wanna say that I am a satisfied customer and am pleased with the service and the price I paid. The lights were recommended

and have gotten alot of good feedback from friends and family who saw our house.

If anyone interested, can pm me for salesperson's contact, don't want to be seen as advertising for him.

Bought my light from Lighting.com as well, I admire their price is reasonable but there is ready NO quality to talk about, bought 10, spoil 2. Even when the Electrician is trying to fix for us but claim that the parts they even are quite lousy.
