Doors That Offer Better Sound Proof?

Recommended Posts

Hi... Can anyone advise me wat door to change to for better sound proof? My current door are classic one(i guess so) n it seems to b quite hollow...

Was wondering wat door to change to? N does solid ones reali block out the sound better? Or which type to opt for for the best sound proof effect?

My TV is at least 6m away frm my bedroom, but somehw i can hear the tv clearly... I suppose its due to the poor quality of the door??

Thks for any advise in advance :)

Upz :)

from personal experience... solid wood doors in this climate esp for bedrooms may dissapoint u.. the planks may warp... i would advise u on gettting doors that can be solid inside made from whatever who cares as long as its not hollow... and covered by one piece veneer in the front...that way theres nothing to split and warp... or u can have classic doors that are solid... people keep telling me classic doors but i have no idea what that means.... i am assuming its a basic door... but classic doors back home they are just smooth finihed primed and painted. u can choose to havve that solid.. the door frame.. the part that surrounds the door u wanna prep and it and use self adhesive 3m... rubber weather stripping and under the door.. prefer before its installed... prep it nice and smooth and add on furry strips or a rubber gasket. very easy cheap things to do but done well can really make a diff.. a solid classic door not including install should be less than 200.

Change to solid timber door with rockwool insulation inside. Add ravens seal below your door and the sides of the door frame for improved sound blockage.

Not necessary your door which might be poor quality...your wall too. Add acoustic boards for fast remedy.
