Home & Furnishing: The Kitchen Cabinet Story

Recommended Posts

i think using glass surface will prevent the colour from turning yellowish from all the cooking

I guess to prevent the colour from turning "yellowish", you will need to wipe clean after every cooking to avoid grease.

Use wet cloth followed by dry cloth to maintain the cabinet. Normally should last 8-10 yrs under good maintainance.

Please turn on your "hood' too every cooking, it helps.

hi,

would you mind telling me how much you have spent for this kitchen? it looks nice..=)

Can't really rem .... should be ard 3k-4k with all the tile work .....

won't all the white cabinet doors turn yellow after some years?

Not true . I got friend who had white door even after many yrs :)

Gloss material prone to wavy effect. Hence, people usually opt for matt finish.

Not always true. Very depend on yr carpenter :) of cos matt is a safer choice in term of wavy

Using glass will also make it very dangerous in a kitchen if you knock or break it. As mostly the glass used is not tempered it will be sharp when broken, to temper them would probably bring up the price too much to be a viable option. In terms of turning yellow, that really can't be helped. It's a choice of look good or practical. If you go practical you would choose a more manageable colour, but if you want the nice clean look

It is a matter of which you would rather sacrifice or live with. :)

any idea how much ikea 31ft kitchen cabinet? i thinking asking them to do site measurement.

Ikea doesn't charge you per ft run. the cabinet is modular meaning you have to buy it in sections. Do also realise that Ikea use chipboard for their kitchen cabinets and Blum fixtures. In regards to that, you can always go to Blum and ask them for a certified specialist to build your kitchen as well. This way you get a customised kitchen with the dimensions you like and tailored to your needs.

L or long kitchen really depends on your lifestyle. Basically you should be able to use your kitchen in a efficiently if it were built with the right intention. Each kitchen has to be built with specific zones for it to be able to be actually efficiently functional. Therefore it really depends on your layout, positioning and size of your kitchen appliances that would help you to determine if and L or long kitchen would be better for you.
