Guys,

First post ever here, it seems a tad of headache to decide whether to go with a ID firm or contractor. Yes, I've learned to used the short forms after reading the forum for a few days. The thing is we do know 95% of what we want. So it might be a pain for talk to the IDs and they would probably tell us to just get a contractor as we'll basically be telling them what we want and would probably disagree most of they recommend us.

Ok, here's my question. I have seen 1 work of Kinbo Construction guys in a square room magazine. I am wondering if any of you in the forum has any experience with them. One more thing is that both my husband and myself do not speak chinese and worry that we may not be able to click with the contractors. :(

Any other recommendations of contractors who can communicate well in English would also welcome.

Cheers,

K.

Oh yes, definitely. A few things we're looking at are:

1. Hack and lay floor tiles for living, dinning, kitchen and 2 bathrooms.

2. Make over- kitchen totally (open concept)

3. Make over 2 bathrooms totally (Will include hacking of the dinning area wall and raising of the toilet bowl as I would like to rotate the toilet bowl facing.)

4. Remove MBR built-in wardrobe

5. Plastering the ceiling

6. Painting and wall treatment to hide the cables

7. Painting (except 3 bedrooms, will DIY for the bedrooms)

8. Filling for the air-con opening in the MBR.

9. Hack arches in the dinner area (2 of them)

And our budget is somewhere around 20,000 ..so not sure if we can even make it....

Gotta wait and see....

Cheers,

K
