Hi there

Yes, this unit already comes with a recess area (5sqm). I did the sums and it will cost in the neighborhood of 4000.

I was lucky that the common toilet can be linked to bedroom 1 and the storeroom had already been hacked.

I'm not a big fan with WIW, I prefer everything to be covered.

I already brought 1 contractor to see this flat (someone who is not featured here), he roughly quoted me 20-23k.

Would u be interested to draw some designs for me (kitchen layout, room layout and any other layout).

I have limited ideas so I really appreciate different styles and designs.

Cheers.

Hi berry,

Welcome. Nice layout, do you have any theme in mind?

hey i remember u. i came across ur designs on another blog and i admire ur works.

i dont have any fanciful themes, just minimal stuffs for minimize cleaning and maximize space.

i will take the bedroom 1 and jelly will take the mbr. i will also leave the bedroom 2 empty.

the flooring is still good, broken marbles which was the IN thing in the 80s. I remembered seeing it in many of my relatives flats.

i supposed the hacking will consists...

1) kitchen floor tiles

2) kitchen wall tiles

3) bathrooms floor tiles

4) bathrooms wall tiles

I also have a high ceiling, at more than 3m. so my painting budget will go up.

what do u think?

You got a HDB penthouse :D , wonder can build a staircase up with another build up area to act as a study area not?

For me, I think YES.

For HDB, a big fat No. So no need to bother asking them.

Wow! High ceiling, I like :D

Don't create "another build up area", unless you ready need the space.

High ceiling look majestic!

Make full use of the ceiling, play with lighting.

Create a "WOW" not a "EEH" effect. :P

yup but i dont knw why some people just want to false ceiling everywhere and play with their cove n down lights.

of course generate sales thus profits to them but what is the point here?

anyway i intend to false ceiling the kitchen because it is really ugly "up there" and so are the toilets. In a way then I can do away with wall lights which looks like i'm in a old hospital in the 80s.

this place reminds me of potong pasir when i went house hunting!

they have slang high roof too!i was thinking if i buy that unit,i might consider doing a loft.hehe.. :P

If u are not doing false ceiling,u need higher capacity for your air con to cool the entire room due to the high ceiling,

are u aware of it?

i thought of that too but the ex-owner installed normal ac in their 3 bedrooms and this block is not upgraded so the electric load is not the new one.

so i also want to know how they deal with it.

Does the high ceiling apply to all the bedrooms too?

if u see...the kitchen is on the same side as MBR and BR 2. However the slanting side is opposite of living room,

I mean to say the roof is triangular.
