No wavy effect, as some feared. Looks fine to me.

Hi bigeyedfish,

What a nice kitchen you have.. like the white table top.

I'll be renovating my home sweet home probably in May,

still a long way to go.

nice cabinet :)

May I know what's the height of your cabinet above the sink? The one which we store our plates etc. Cause for mine right, the carpenter say I can't fit in 2 dish rack, if install 2 I will not be able to put plates. Finding ways to resolve it :)

TIA :)

Hi bigeyedfish, your kitchen cabinets look really good. So did you use 1mm laminates or thicker? My ID initially wants to use 0.8mm, but after I told him repeatedly my worries about the wavy effects, he has decided to change to 1mm to play safe.

Looks great! I think the wall must be re-plastered and do agree w/ ossify that gross laminate in kitchen requires quite high maintenance. But the overall kitchen feel is really cool... same with butterfingerzz's one. :D

Thanks!! My solid top is actually white with cream speckles. Not the pure white kind.

Bro ossify, yeah maintenance. I cook a few times a week but not those heavy duty kind.

Hub & wifi, Im not so sure of the dimensions but I'll try measure it soon. Moving in tomorrow =)

Bro SGK, I didn't actually ask but I can. No worries, Im sure yours will turn out nice.

Bluewater, thanks. Butterfingerzzz's is very nice but my old house already has white cabinets so we just decided to add a lil bit of colour.

Yes the red lever looks so out of place.

Happy moving to the both of us. Hah. I won't have internet connection for my laptop till next Monday so will have to rely on my iphone frm tmw. Remember to update on your kitchen. Can't wait to see it all done up.

i moved on the day my mio was set up so i had internet upon move in :D

yeah my kitchen might take some time. i'm spending today to do it. finished 1 40cm base cabinet so far. it includes 1 drawer. 2 basket drawers and a drawer door. i'm quite a perfectionist so it might take some time to do it up. will see what i can accomplish today.

Moved-in headaches

1) Water pressure is so small and contractor said that's the maximum we can go. I don't know what's the cause of the problem.

2) My sink is leaking. Not sure whether it's the plumbing or the Critzo sink.

3) Gas heater is not working properly. It only turns on when the mixer is at the maximum 'hot' side and then it'ld be too hot. If we put the mixer in between, the water turns cold. Really pity my kids cos they have to bathe at 7am before going to school and the water's either too hot or too cold. Must resort to boiling water for them.

I didn't have such problems with my previous house.
