1 - Use mirrors. Pretty much the most obvious choice, as mirrors give your abode look bigger.

3 - Maybe its the walls! Yeah. Walls. They are made to segregate space, and may be claustrophobic at times. But walls may make your 3-room apartment/house look and feel smaller. Try removing it to see if it makes your space any less claustrophobic. If you feel removing it may seem intrusive towards your privacy, add divider screens, curtains, glass panels to replace.
