If you're worried, maybe ask your contractor to grind a sample to show you first. I think its neater this way cause the pvc strip is actually 'round' corner and it kinda 'pop' out at the right angle.

Have your contractor show you the pvc for the floor? If Im not wrong, those pvc strip have limited colour. It will be quite ugly (in my opinion) if the pvc colour isn't close to your floor tiles. Kind of like 'highlighting' that strip on the floor.

By the way, your bedroom floor tiles look like my old kitchen floor tiles. Hee.. <img src="http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Oh ok. Can ask for the floor edges that they grind, then the inside of the tiles will be exposed right? won't it be a different colour from the tile surface? Cos from your pic, seem like the inside colour not far off from the surface colour, can't really see a big difference, maybe because your tiles are light colours. My tiles are dark colour :(

Hi Aerial,

thank you. We spent so much time running between Hafary and Hup Kiong because of the tiles selection and combinations, hahaha. Will post pics once the tiles are up. Stay tuned. :)

I love your dark mosiac tiles! Is that your toilet or kitchen?

Really nice combination, so your MBR toilet is actually 3 types of tiles. ;)

I also like your common br mosiac like tiles

Wow.. my blog so hidden, you still can find them out. :D

1st pic, they use pvc trim.

2nd & 3rd pic, they grind it smooth. If for wall, usually they use pvc for the edge. For floor ones are usually grind. I think it will look weird if they use pvc for the floor ones and might be slippery.

hi Rasp,

thanks. I saw your blog photos. actually i am asking about the edges :P

I have used some of your blog photos to illustrate, hope you don't mind. U can see where my black arrows are pointing to.

My question is actually what to do about these 90 degrees edges? pvc trims better? cos my contractor say just tile together and grind it to be less sharp, but then that means the under colour of the tiles (which is different colour form the surface of the tiles) will be showing.

How did Henry do for the 3 edges shown below? thanks

Hi,

We had chosen the same set of mbr toilet wall tiles but tiled differently and i love your common toilet (white + green combi). Didn't managed to get any suitable green from hafary therefore changed to black tiles instead. :)

Waiting to see the actual picture for both ur toilets.

Hi, I have a question to seek everyone advise here.

For the kerbs for the toilets, base for the fridge, washing machine, etc, and edges for the concrete tiled sink support, what is the best solution to the edges where 2 tiles meet at 90degree angle?

I was told that nowadays just cement 2 tiles at right angle, then u can see the sides of the top tile in different colour from the tiles surface. Then they will grind it so that edges is not so sharp. Is this the nicest way to tile an edge? Is this the most popular way to do it nowadays?

I aksed them about using rounded PVC tile trims to cover the edges where tiles meet, they say they can do that also. Is this way better? does it look better?

Any advise for me very much appreciated. thanks
