I'm thinking of having the white theme for our new house too. We are also worried about the stain and the yellowish part. Hmm, now, have to re-consider on the theme unless someone has actually with white theme without much hassle in maintaining them.

going to discuss wif ID on my theme soon....sigh...some said it's okay, since everything will turn yellowish at the same time...but how abt stain? last thing i want, it's paid so much for the hse & reno, but ended up cleaning the hse everyday...haaa

thought glossy white is easier on maintainance....

any existing white hse owner here care to share ur experience? :)

TYM, haha, that's a good one, but i think Mr President house is only white on the outside, interiors not white ba.

Well, for me, I'm only diligent for the first 2 years in my new house, clean whenever i see small spots of stains. after 5 years, don't really care already la.

if you really like it, i'd say go for it! just try to avoid fixed or commonly used furniture with fabric in white, i.e. sofa, dining chairs... stained fabrics very hard to clean wor.

merydith: ya, i really like White. was thinking everything white, except curtain and other accesaries to add some colors. sofa...very hard to decide. its color will change the whole feel...but white sofa definitely hard to maintain lor

I'm doing all white. Glossy white mostly for carpentry and wall tiles, matte white for floor tiles. It's definitely not gonna be easy. Kinda unrealistic to expect everything to stay white after a few years of usage. Bound to happen IMHO. Still finding out how to properly care for glossy white surfaces now.

Cheers and good luck!

white will never look outdated, that's for sure... but i think after a while, it looks kinda plain and boring la... but that can be remedied easily, just throw in colours and it will look refreshing!

i guess you try to go for glossy surfaces, definitely much easier to wipe down as compared to matte laminates...

really, since you are so keen, just go for it!! it's your house, my dear... just do what your heart tells you to!
