admittedly, there's always the reno mags to talk about fabulous renos. but for those who are incline to a more personlise insights and thorough story, rt tblog suggestively offers better. sometimes it takes that stroke of luck to spot that wonderful reno tblog and sometimes that wonderful reno ridicuoulsy escapes your radar.

presenting my favourite renovations featured in this forum till date - imho, they are consistent in their delivery in terms design and theme. Fused with selective signature or designer pieces, they made their places even more chic and party/forum conversational . of course, the list is by all means not exhaustive. there are some equally worthy good blogs i remember when i first started mine but is long dated and not seen in here anymore. I will add on the list too if i spotted any more gems in here. but like i mentioned, some just eludes me totally. so let me know if you have anyone in mind. in a sense, this is my way of capturing them and hopefully, serves more peeps here. enjoy!

in no order of merit...

admittedly, i MIAed again.

always stay current in renotalk forum i told myself, but seemingly a month without posting anything at all. tsk tsk...

for my own record solely, was nursing a back inflammation for awhile but alas, the recent running event proved that it should be all well and ok.

so in between not working and just nursing my health, we worked on the outstanding items in the house - in particular DIY and arts, games room design;

our humble effort at DIY and arts for the display area in the living room;

the initial sketch of our games room after discussion with our id;

we have only limited space in the games room, so hoping to go for a sofa bed with storage space below and feature a shelving area made up of retro bricks. and if budget allows, to go for projection screen.

IMG_5795.jpg

how small the room u ask? well, this small (so you see, even the mahjong table must be collapsible. ha);

hope everyone is doing great with their reno so far!

the final look of the house is never completed one shot. take your time to build up the essentials first and slowly source for the rest.

i'm saying that cause seemingly we yet to fancy a wall clock we want!!!

this absence, this long long hiatus..

there must always be something to blame right?

we can't blame the wedding dinner can we

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/fabianp00n/revisited/wedding.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

housework? really, can be quite a killer cleaning this white house

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/fabianp00n/revisited/IMG_5492.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

perhaps the panasonic plasma tv we waited and waited before deciding to buy?

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/fabianp00n/revisited/IMG_5498.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

no wait, the whole forum all agreed in unison that i must get this, isnt it?

Bro if the sofa bed is adjacent to the screen, wouldn't it be a chore enjoying your movies and such?

Nice picture of the tree btw!

Nice pic, especially with a white frame against a white wall. Awesome kitchen as well.

I've got a soft spot for Newgate Clocks from the UK, but they are extremely cautious about people copying their clocks. Having said that, they look really good though.

Hi ne0mesis,

Thanks for your help re the info on Fujioh hood. Will discuss with hubby in depth on whether to go with Fujioh :). Your kitchen design looks great, really like the island :)!

Btw would like to find out how's your experience with Like That One? Was planning to go there after collecting our geberit system from the warehouse at Wcega Plaza but too tired :P. Thinking of looking for solid bookshelves as hubby and I both love books :).

Thanks again!

hello ne0mesis,

I am very impressed with your cabinet at the living room.

1)Is it inspired by piano keys?

2)Is the black "keys" the slots for opening the door to the cabinets or black laminate?

3)Do you mind taking a closer picture of the black "keys" to your living room cabinets?

4)Is the space behind your TV utilised as well or it's blocked out?

Thanks in advance.

hey there... no problem at all!

is my way of giving way after learning so much from this forum too.

yea, the island is also our fav piece in the house.

Like That One pride themselves as retro chic boutique and they do have some unique and been-there-done-that pieces that surely catches attention. but of course, at boutique prices alike. if you're tired from Iwannagohome, hitting such stores definitely refreshes! apart from like that on, there's places like Lorgans, Restore and Second charm. Second Charm offers best pricing in my opinion. Plus, they can customise the re-touchup and re-color your pieces. Go for pencil leg kind for a loud yet subtle retro statement!

thanks for dropping by my tblog btw!

Tks for dropping by!

1. I would say it wasn't intentional. We wanted to adopt a minimalist feel, do decided the flush the long wall with this cabinets to get rid of the recess on the long wall where the cabinets are now. With minimalist, the colors matters, so it just happened that it turned out this way. but yea, it does look like piano keys now that you mentioned it. ha

2. Yes, it is. although not all are openings. judos to our ID, he was creative enough to give it the illusion like every "key" can be opened. but in actual face, some are cut in i.e "openable", the rest are jus a visual effect.

3. ok, I will try. stay tuned!

4. space behind tv is just laminate over it and nothing more. alhtough a hole had been cut to throw in the wires.

Hope it helps!
