Altar hanging in the mid-air against walls saves alot of space.

However, for some elderly folks, they r not receptive to such an idea. Their belief is such that the altar should be touching the ground for great stability in all aspects of their lives (including occupants of their home). And for some who are ultra superstitious, "hanging" mid-air (off the ground) meant getting "stuck" in whatever one does; with no recourse or solutions and would always find themselves "stuck" or caught up in difficult situations & have problems manoveuring out of their present difficulties.

I'm not sure how true that is. My comments r for sharing purposes only.

My mum also had same belief.

I sourced around AngMoKio Furniture shop but could not find a favourable one.

I went to Rochor Centre and found the best Buddhist Altar Table.

Finally, i got one that looked modern and able space to put flowers and

fruits offerings. The shop facing the Albert OG and FU LU SHOU complex.

The boss (uncle) was quite friendly.

My ID designer was surprised i found the Altar.

Workmanship very good and design very modern.

Hope you can find one.

Lucky my family and my ILs are not so "eldery" in such a way. Praying to buddha/god is by how much sincerity we can offer to them and not by looking at the material we can provide to them. There is not such a way to measure one's life for being always in a luck. Of cos, nobody wants to being caught in whatever difficult situations or problems they have. But that all comes to one self practice and the way one manage. Is all in the mindset that leads to superstitious.

Anyway thanks for sharing, might have to standby for a altar table if the elders give too much comments. But i hope they will not cos after all is my new place not theirs.
