if you are drilling reinforced wall. dont get black and decker.

I try using a B&W 700W, supposely more powerful to drill holes in my store-room. Takes ages .. never go deeper than 2cm.

I use an nearly 20years old Bosch 400W ... it goes easily to depth I want.

For really serious and heavy work. Bosch is much better in quality and power. Seems to me the B&W 700W is fake.

Anyone heard of ATA Rotary Hammer Drill.... S$104

This Is a brand new ATA Rotary Hammer Drill SDS plus Chuck Head

Able to Drill up to 26mm diameter hole in concrete. Proven by contractors!

Is this a good buy? compare to

1. MAKTEC MT811 13MM Hammer Drill S$83

2. Bosch Hammer Drill GSB 16 RE Professional $125

Thats weird ... i just used a 710W B&D drill and used the right masonry drill bit. It took me about 20-30 seconds to drill a hole of 45mm in hard concrete walls.

I bought a Bosch drill around 3 months ago. It was something like this one which is mid to upper level of their range.

As a drill it goes maybe 1" into the concrete. As a rotary hammer drill it goes through concrete like butter.

I would go for Bosch or Makita given a choice.
