Need Advice - Philips Downlight

Recommended Posts

hi thanks for such a useful tip! do you have another other lighting tips to share too? :)

i am planning on getting downlights too. saw the one TS mention....i think they have white faceplate instead of silver too. (yes lightings.com.sg)

I am not sure if there are any similar ones in the market....but the screws are definitely a smart concept. dunno why the other manufacturers never think of this in the first place :bangwall:

but then if u are planning on LED, then any type of downlight also can since you probably wun need to change bulb often.

me planning to use the philips easyscene bulbs...so these suit me quite fine i guess.

yes, for standard 12" L-box 2 x 14W is too big. a 1 x 14 downlight will be sufficient. I once made a mistake of ordering those 2 x 14W downlights and managed to change to single-bulb type and installed in my flat. <img src="http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Just checking with you, FBG 304 square cannot fix Philips myVision LED bulb. Is it true? Only FBG 302 round can.

Thanks

Hi, positive. Philips myVision LED bulb is only compatible with Philips FBG 302. I am getting it also but will give away the genie 14w inside. cos i only want the housing of FBG302.

philips LED bulb should be compatible with all downlights as long as their holder is E27 right?

What i know from the shop that opening of FBG304 is not big enough of the philips myvision bulb to reach E27 socket. I have not try it myself.

Anyone has good recommendations to purchase the Philips E27, Genie 14W bulb in good pricing? I am thinking of replacing all my existing Genie 14W after 2 years of usage. I intend to buy ard 25 units and wondering can get a good price with this quantity?

Hi,

Just sharing. Will you like to consider replacing your downlights to LED downlights? you can visit www.ledazzled.com for more infomation on the prices.

A 10W LED downlight costs S$48 and comes with 3 years warranty.
