Creation Air-con

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I believe everyone is concern when coming to choose their air-con unit for home. My opinion here is not about selecting the brands, but on the supplier/company that you're purchasing from.

I bought mine from Creation, price is comparable to Best Tech. My comments on their workmanship is bad (perhaps my expectation is higher), 1st installation on the piping after drilling the walls didn't touch-up exposing the holes. Piping wasn't laid nicely resulted the trunking popped out. Called them up to mend it, but after 2nd and 3rd time, they still done a lousy job covering the holes with white cement. In the end, I got my ID to do it. 2nd installation of the FCU, not installed properly upon request they did some adjustment here and there. After the technicians left, realised there is a crack on the FCU (Might be damage during installation). Too late to call back their office, as it's after office hours. But the office responsded nicely to give me an answer, they did. Waiting to get the cover changed.

Maybe they send the lousiest team to install my unit...sighz

But Mitsubushi Heavy Industries Inverter is really silent.

They used non-standard aluminum piping. That's our concern. Other vendors told us that this is 2-3x cheaper than copper. Will cost us a bomb if we need maintenance in the future. Think this statement might be true. Only heard this vendor is using Al piping so far. Have to come back to them whenever we have problem on piping huh?

Aluminum pipe is cheap but will surely cause problem in a short period of time after the installation. Even a G24 copper pipe is much better than aluminium pipe. I strongly advise members to go for copper pipe when it's come to air-con installation.

Please refer to below for the changing trend for air con installation. Aluminum alloy is now a better material because the grades are better now and fully tested by PSB!

Characteristic & Advantages over copper

Flaring

Requires lesser strength

Using the same set of tools as flaring copper

Higher thickness on pipe enables a more strengthen & even flare

Bending

Requires lesser strength

More flexibility than copper

Do not kink easily compared to copper

Using the same set of bending tools as copper

Brazing

No argon gas, wire spool, gloves, shield or electricity required

1 Armourbraze rod allows up to 50 joints

Fast, easy & secured joints in 10 seconds

No turning of torches or rounding up gaps

4 times faster than brazing copper.

No additional flux required

Using the same torch and mapp gas

More saving on gas, time and brazing rod due to lower melting

point of aluminium

Estimated USD 0.05 per joint

Joints are stronger than main material

Swaging or Expanding

30% expansion from original OD

Using the same set of swaging tools as copper

Longer Length

Coils comes in 100m or 50m (bigger size) minimising joints

Lesser joints would mean lesser tendency of leakeage

Using lesser time, map gas & brazing rod

Longer length, lesser wastage

Pressure

Quatest (Vietnam) tested to meet ASTM B280-02 (9.4Mpa),

ASTM E 1251-99, TCVN 1832:2008 (18Mpa)

PSB TUV (Singapore) tested to meet ASTM B75 @ 1000PSI

Corrosion

48 hours salt water test before shipment

Corrosion rate is very much lesser than copper

Oxidisation rate is also lower making pipes clean and bright when exposed

Thermal Conductivity

Lower than copper by almost 50% which means lesser rate of condensation

Examples of aluminium tube being used

Air-conditioning in all automobiles

Refrigerator

Fan Coils of Air-conditioners
