Recommended Posts

I am considering getting a roller blind for the kitchen (photo below) for some privacy sake. hee typical Asian mindset.

however I do wonder whether will this work since this it the kitchen and window is behind the sink

all the new window bind get dirty easily??

Anyone did the same thing for their kitchen had any recommendations for us?

notice the placement of stuff in ur kitchen, seems like u do cook.. and with a slim hood, i would say not advisable to put a roller blind in the kitchen cos of the oil and grease..

imagine the grease on the blinds and then u roll it in... =.="

unless u want to do a thorough cleaning of the blinds each time u roll up...

If your main concern is piracy, how about window firm. Those blur type. Or has some design type.

yea.. solar film is a good alternative.. there are those that u can see the outside, but the outside cannot see u..

Get those frosted film, stick all, stick 1/2 height or 3/4 height.

Else, use shower screen curtain, washable yet not too ex to replace.

Solar film is good in the day when its bright outside and darker inside, hence cannot see in. But at night when its dark outside and bright inside, the reverse happens and people outside can look in.

TS, just go to Hardware house to buy those window frosted firm (Diamond design) and DIY.

Very easy. But will be better to had 2 person if 1st time doing.

For step , you can use youtube to find.

I did that on my bedroom and my child room window.

Only cover 2/3 of the window height, so that I still can see outside weather.

My kitchen layout is similar to yours with 3 panels of windows. And I still install a white roller blind. Like you say, privacy. Haha! Most of the time, I roll down half only. After 4 years, so far so good. Not very oily. Probably my hood is very good. So overall my kitchen is not dirty etc. But I think installing frosted film is good option too. Minimal maintenance, no need to wash blinds :P
